Samen met Els De Craecker ga ik in gesprek met Katrien Schaubroeck, docente filosofie aan de Universiteit Antwerpen. We spreken over de filosofische canon. Is die wel representatief voor de praktijk van de filosofie van vandaag de dag? Zijn bepaalde groepen van denkers – zoals vrouwelijke filosofen en denkers van kleur – niet ondervertegenwoordigd in de curricula van de universiteiten, in de leeslijsten, in de boekhandel? Naar aanleiding van “Filosofische Bibliotheek Diotima”, een publicatiereeks van uitgeverij Letterwerk die meer aandacht aan vergeten vrouwelijke denkers wil bieden, zoomen we in op deze vragen.

Evelien Van Beeck, Als je de muziek niet hoort
Ik ontvang vandaag Evelien Van Beeck. Evelien is gezinswetenschapper en filosofe. Ook vertaalde ze het boek ‘Une seconde vie’ (Het leven kan anders) van de Franse filosoof François Jullien. Ze doet onderzoek naar het filosofische thema “onttovering” aan de Universiteit Antwerpen. Samen met Evelien onderzoek ik wat onttovering vandaag de dag voor ons kan betekenen. We hebben het onder meer over Friedrich Nietzsche, Max Weber, en Paul Ricœur. Én over een briesend paard.
