RMN065 MS Wissenschaft 2024 “Freiheit”
Sie wurde besungen, beschworen, erkämpft und verloren, verfasst und erhalten, gelebt und gelobt, verschenkt und bejubelt, gewährt und geraubt, die Freiheit. Und mehr noch, sie wird sogar beforscht, ist Gegenstand wissenschaftlicher Betrachtungen. Denn was die Menschen unter Freiheit verstehen, ist vielleicht so vielfältig wie die Menschen selbst. Und doch gibt es ein gemeinsames Grundverständnis: die Menschenrechte. Sie stehen jedem Menschen, allein auf Grundlage seines oder ihres “Menschseins” zu. Aber auch nicht schrankenlos. Freiheit muss verteidigt werden, doch jede Schranke kann ihrerseits die Freiheit gefährden, wenn sie nicht mit Bedacht gewählt wird. Lässt man dagegen den Feinden der Freiheit zu viel Spielraum, kann auch das die Freiheit gefährden. Freiheit ist ein Thema, das so einfach klingt und doch so schwer zu greifen ist. Zumal es für uns “normal” ist, in Freiheit zu leben und sie erst zum Thema wird, wenn wir Unfreiheit spüren. Sicher scheint nur zu sein, dass Freiheit Kompromisse braucht. Denn “Ohne Kompromisse würde alles stillstehen”, gibt uns ein Exponat in der schwimmenden Ausstellung auf der MS Wissenschaft 2024 mit auf den Heimweg. RMN064 Varusschlacht
Wir wissen beide nicht mehr, wem wir diesen Ausflugstipp zu verdanken haben. Irgendjemand aus der verehrten Hörer:innenschaft hatte zu einem unserer vergangenen “Lars-und-Martin-Ausflüge” einmal kommentiert, er oder sie würde sich wünschen, wir würden einmal das “Varusschlacht”-Museum in Kalkriese im Osnabrücker Land besuchen. Wir wollten diesen Wunsch gern erfüllen, aber dennoch haben wir das monatelang oder vielleicht schon jahrelang vor uns hergeschoben. Gründe der Verhinderung gab es stets genug. Aber aufgeschoben heißt ja nicht aufgehoben. Und so haben wir den Feiertag des 3. Oktober 2023 genutzt, um den überfälligen Museumsbesuch zu machen. Begleitet wurden wir dabei von Ute, deren Stimme aus dem “Auf Distanz”-Podcast von Lars bekannt sein könnte. Für mich reihte sich an dem Tag ein “Aha”-Erlebnis an das andere. Auch wenn viel sicher Geglaubtes inzwischen gar nicht mehr so sicher zu sein scheint, war es ein wirklich spannender Ausflug in die Geschichte. Danke für den Tipp!
