S1E22 — When Trishanku Wanted to Enter Heaven Alive
After a thousand years of severe austerity, Vishvamitra is acknowledged by Brahma as a Rajarshi — a royal sage. But for Vishvamitra, this is not enough. Realizing that the spiritual attainment he seeks still lies beyond him, he begins his tapas once again.
The story then turns to King Trishanku of the Ikshvaku dynasty, who carries an extraordinary desire: he wants to perform a sacrifice and ascend to the realm of the gods in his physical body.
Trishanku first approaches the great sage Vasistha, but Vasistha declares the goal impossible.
Still unwilling to abandon his purpose, Trishanku travels to Vasistha's sons. With humility and joined palms, he asks them to perform the sacrifice that might fulfill his extraordinary wish.
Their answer, however, is still to come.

S1E21 — When Vishvamitra’s Divine Weapons Failed
After seeing royal power fail before Vasistha, Vishvamitra turns toward a new source of strength.
He undertakes severe tapas near the Himalayas and receives from Mahadeva the knowledge of Dhanurveda and a vast array of divine weapons. Armed with this new power, Vishvamitra returns to Vasistha’s hermitage, convinced that the balance has finally changed. S1E21_WHEN_VISHVAMITRAS_DIVINE_…
One after another, he releases his divine astras—but Vasistha’s brahma-staff subdues them all. Vishvamitra finally turns to the Brahmastra itself, yet even that terrible weapon is overcome by Vasistha’s brahma-power. S1E21_WHEN_VISHVAMITRAS_DIVINE_… S1E21_WHEN_VISHVAMITRAS_DIVINE_…
The defeat transforms Vishvamitra’s understanding of power. He recognizes that kshatriya strength and even divine weapons cannot equal brahma-radiance, and he resolves to undertake the great tapas that will lead him toward brahminhood. S1E21_WHEN_VISHVAMITRAS_DIVINE_…
