🎧RTC Legends Series

Episode Four: Jugg Mugg of Odd Squad / Coughee Brothaz

🎙️🎙️🎙️RAP…the conversation

Legends Series

Episode Four released May 12, 2026

➡️ Jugg Mugg, honorary Lieutenant Colonel of the Coughee Brothaz Clique, initially came to the attention of the rap music world in 1993 as a member of Odd Squad - a Houston-based trio who first appeared on the Geto Boys Till Death Do Us Part album.

On one of the most iconic posse cuts ever committed to wax - Bring It On - James Prince platformed a plethora of talent from his Rap-A-Lot roster, with every artist delivering unique and memorable bars. Nearly seven minutes in length, the track served its purpose, wetting the appetites of hip-hop fans around the world and setting the stage for the onslaught of releases from the label which would soon follow.

Although 1994’s Fadanuf Fa Erybody!! would prove to be Jugg Mugg, Rob Quest and Devin The Dude’s first and only release under the Odd Squad name, the three artists and their greater Coughee Brothaz collective have remained active and relevant in the decades since, contributing a creative and flavourful, no-nonsense funk to the southern hip hop landscape and beyond.

Devin, the most recognizable member of the Clique, has enjoyed the support of his Coughee Brothaz alumni through his remarkable career as a solo artist. As Jugg details modestly in our conversation, the Coughee philosophy of a win for one is a win for all is evidenced by the coalition’s collective participation throughout The Dude’s catalogue. From featured verses, to production and involvement behind the scenes, a Devin album is in fact also a Coughee Brothaz album. The team is loyal and from loyalty foundations are built and empires can be established.

It was a pleasure to have Jugg Mugg join us on this fourth instalment of our RTC Legends Series. A respected veteran who was not only there making it happen as Houston’s rap music industry exploded in the early 90’s, he continues to keep it movin 30+ years later.

His upcoming solo album Rock Solid Logic is certain to be an authentic addition to the collections of all true Coughee connoisseurs.

Stay tuned. RTC Season Three begins this fall.

In the meantime, we’ve got a few more RTC Legends Series episodes to come during the off-season.

#raptheconversation #rtclegendsseries #juggmugg #oddsquad #cougheebrothaz #dfw #houston #texas #robquest #devinthedude

🎙️

🎙️

🎙️

x.com/cube1871

x.com/mrvines14

x.com/raptheconvo

x.com/sugarsean20

instagram.com/cube187187

instagram.com/yosefndonuts

instagram.com/sugarsean2024

instagram.com/raptheconversation
