<p><strong>アメリカ ピッツバーグ在住の写真家 エド・パナールのインタビューになります。インタビューは写真研究家のダニエル・アビーさんが英語で行いました。英語でのインタビューの後に私（酒）とダニエル・アビーさんで日本語で何を話していたのかを振り返っていますので、ぜひそちらもお聞きください。</strong></p><p><br></p><p>＜スタジオ35分 展示紹介文＞</p><p>この度、スタジオ35分では、アメリカ・ピッツバーグ在住の写真家、エド・パナールによる日本初個展「Animals That Saw Me」を開催いたします。パナールはこれまで、アメリカ国内外で多数の展覧会を開催し、精力的に作品集を出版するなど、国際的に高い評価を得ている写真家です。</p><p>2011年に出版され、同年にアメリカの写真集サイト「photo-eye」でベスト写真集のひとつに選出された本作は、「私を見た動物たち」というタイトルが示す通り、動物たちが人間に向けた不意の視線を捉えたシリーズです。</p><p>カメラを向ける人間が動物を一方的に「見る」のではなく、不意に動物たちの視線に射抜かれ、「見られていた」自分に気づく――。2016年刊行の『Volume 2』も含めたこれら一連の作品群は、写真メディアの永遠のテーマである「見る／見られる」の関係性を、思慮深い洞察と独特のユーモアを交えて提示しています。</p><p>本展では、これら2つの作品集から作家と共に厳選した作品を展示いたします。パナールの眼差しが日本で初めて紹介されるこの貴重な機会に、ぜひご高覧ください。</p>

横田大輔（写真家）
<p>横田大輔は、常に独自の方法で写真という媒体に向き合ってきた作家である。<br>横田はこれまで、写真の複製や劣化といったプロセスを反復することで生じるイメージやフィルム、印画紙といった写真感材そのものを暗室で変質させる手法により、写真が変容していく過程そのものを作品化してきた。これらの作品は、写真表現における実験であると同時に、「写真とは何か」という媒体への根源的な問いを投げかけるものである。</p><p>一方で、近年横田が取り組むのは、多摩川中流域とそこに自生する植物を対象としたシリーズである。本作では大判カメラ（4×5）を用い、現地の風景と植物に直接向き合う撮影が行われている。なかでも、カラシナ（アブラナ科）の撮影を繰り返す姿勢には、日常的な雑草の存在を超えて、横田自身の知覚と視線が強く引き寄せられていることがうかがえる。それは「カメラで世界を見るとはどういうことか」という、視覚と写真の根本的な問題へと立ち戻る試みとも言えるだろう。</p><p>本作は、横田大輔の現在の制作における重要な局面を示すと同時に、今後の方向性を示唆するものである。</p><p>横田大輔 写真展<br>「植物、多摩川中流域」</p><p><br>2025年11月19日（水）- 12月27日（土）<br>16:00 – 22:00<br>定休日：日・月・火<br>1drink order</p><p>スタジオ35分<br>東京都中野区上高田5-47-8</p><p><br></p>
