When Women Rode Dragons
Some stories feel older than memory — they live in our bones, our DNA, and our souls. This is one of those stories: not simply my story, but our story, a remembering of something ancient that has always lived within us. Through a profound spiritual experience with a powerful feminine serpent, Debi received a message to remember the wisdom, strength, and power already within her. Years later, discovering ancient stories of goddesses, oracles, serpents, and the sacred feminine revealed that this experience was part of a much larger story. The myth of Persephone, Demeter, Zeus, and Dionysus offers a powerful map for this remembering. Persephone descends into the Underworld and returns transformed, becoming Queen of the Underworld. Demeter must grieve and discover a new source of power. Zeus represents the structures that seek to define and control the feminine, while Dionysus embodies wildness, ecstasy, transformation, and the breaking of boundaries. Together, their stories reflect a deeper feminine initiation: descent, grief, surrender, transformation, and rebirth. Perhaps the feminine has not disappeared — it has been buried beneath systems and stories that taught us to distrust our bodies, silence our intuition, and seek permission outside ourselves. The Serpent, Goddess, Oracle, Wild Woman, Mother, Creatrix, and Queen have always remained within us, waiting to be remembered. To Re-Divine Ourselves is not to become someone new, but to reclaim what was always there: the wisdom of our bodies, the language of our intuition, and the power of our authentic nature. Like Persephone, we may need to descend before we can rise. Like Demeter, we may need to grieve. Like Dionysus, we may need to break free from what contains us. And like the Serpent, we may need to shed the skin of who we were taught to be. The story was never lost. It was waiting for us to remember. 00:00 — Welcome: The Last Episode of Season One 01:00 — A Story That Lives in Our Bones 02:28 — The Spiritual Journey Begins: The Four Directions 04:06 — She Appeared: The Serpent Vision 06:15 — Her Message: You Are a Reflection of Me 07:00 — The Story They Tried to Erase 07:28 — Women as Embodied Wisdom: Inanna, Maat, and the Serpent Goddesses 09:09 — The Story of Persephone and Why It Matters Now 09:50 — Pluto Out of Bounds: The Astrology of This Moment 11:38 — The Darkness We All Know 12:01 — Zeus, Demeter, and Persephone: The Archetypes Within Us 15:55 — Persephone's Descent as Liberation 18:23 — Venus in Retrograde and the Descent We're All In 21:50 — Chiron, Chariklo, and the Healing of the Unhealable 23:06 — Know Thyself: The Oracle at Delphi 30:15 — The Pythia: Women Who Governed the Ancient World 32:13 — The Serpent Was There First 33:40 — What This All Means for Us Now 35:18 — Introducing the Dragon Riders Course 36:15 — Debi's Pilgrimage: Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam 36:56 — Ha Long Bay: Where the Dragons Entered the Sea 38:37 — See You in Season Two FOLLOW US ON ALL PLATFORMS Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/re-divining-yourself/id6785655744 (https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/re-divining-yourself/id6785655744) Spotify Podcasts: https://open.spotify.com/show/033GZYmfmfaqiEZrkICy3U?si=98021032414e4ae7 (https://open.spotify.com/show/033GZYmfmfaqiEZrkICy3U?si=98021032414e4ae7) Amazon Podcasts: https://music.amazon.com/podcasts/dae59708-14b8-4c88-91d1-8ca3182c14e5/redivining-yourself (https://music.amazon.com/podcasts/dae59708-14b8-4c88-91d1-8ca3182c14e5/redivining-yourself) iHeart Radio: https://iheart.com/podcast/337062762/ (https://iheart.com/podcast/337062762/) YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@re-diviningyourself (https://www.youtube.com/@re-diviningyourself) Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/debi_kennison/ (https://www.instagram.com/debi_kennison/) #SacredFeminine #RediviningYourself #Persephone #SerpentWisdom #DivineFeminine

Constructing The New Paradigm
In this episode, Debi interviews Kristie Taylor, a Permaculture Designer and Water Consultant in the Colorado Springs area, about how to build community in authentic and mutually reciprocal ways, and how to navigate the challenges that come with being in community with others. This is an honest and inspiring episode about what is required of us as we move forward into creating a new paradigm, and how small changes and dedication can bring about greater impact and unification. Kristie is a lifelong student of the relationship between people and the living systems that sustain us. Her work is rooted in water, health, regenerative living, and community — observing how the choices we make about what we eat, drink, grow, build, and believe can either reinforce broken systems or help us create healthier ones. She believes regeneration isn't something we do to the land; it is something we practice within ourselves and with one another. At the heart of Kristie's work is a simple question: What would change if we stopped treating ourselves, our communities, and the Earth as separate systems? You Are Not Your Trauma
What if the way we think about trauma is actually keeping us stuck in it? In this honest and quietly provocative episode, Debi takes a loving but unflinching look at our cultural relationship with trauma — how it's defined, who defined it, and whether identifying so strongly with it might be doing us more harm than good. Drawing on Buddhist philosophy, trauma-informed care, somatic wisdom, and her own deeply personal experiences, she explores what it looks like to move from being triggered to choosing your response, from holding on to letting go, and from identifying as your trauma to reclaiming your power in spite of it. This isn't about bypassing your pain — every part of what happened to you is real and valid. It's an invitation to get curious, to find compassion for yourself, and to remember something important: you are driving the bus. Not trauma. Not fear. Awakening Is Not The Destination
We are living between two worlds now — the old shape is finishing and the new shape is forming — and our biology seeks the biology of harmony now more than ever. We are at a proverbial fork in the road and it's time to choose. Which fork you choose will contribute to the co-creation of our reality. In this episode, Debi explores what happens after the awakening — when the ground beneath you disappears, your old life no longer fits, and you haven't yet become who you are. Awakening was never meant to be the destination. It was always just the beginning. The real invitation is to descend — back into your body, your community, your work, and your life — and let the wisdom you've gathered finally shape the way you live. Spirit without matter has no place to live. Yin is where spirit becomes real. It's Complicated: What Our Most Painful Relationships Are Really Teaching Us
Some relationships don't fit neatly into love or grief — they live somewhere in between. In this deeply personal episode, Debi opens up about losing her stepfather, navigating a lifelong relationship with her biological father, and the complex PTSD that shaped them all. She explores what it really means to hold two truths at once: I love you deeply, and I cannot be in this with you right now. From boundaries we betray within ourselves before anyone else can cross them, to the unexpected gifts hidden inside our most painful relationships — this episode is an invitation to stop judging yourself for having complicated feelings about complicated people. This Is What Happens When the Mother Is Exiled
Something ancient is stirring — and your body already knows it. In this episode, Debi names what so many of us are feeling but can't quite articulate: a collective dark night of the soul. She explores the long exile of the Great Mother, why our nervous systems are responding exactly as they should, and what it means to reclaim the sacred feminine — not as a role, but as a force. Even on "down days" when you feel heavy, doubtful, and disconnected from Source, those experiences are a normal part of the spiritual journey. This episode explores what can feel like a spiritual crisis, reminding you that feeling disconnected doesn't mean spirit has left you. Source remains present—you simply need to reconnect. Body As Compass
This reflection explores how modern systems—social, medical, cultural, and patriarchal—have disconnected people from the innate wisdom of their bodies by prioritizing logic, conformity, and external validation over embodied knowing. These systems often dismiss intuition, emotion, dreams, chronic pain, and sensory awareness, teaching people to distrust themselves and seek legitimacy outside of their own experience. The central message is that we live in a culture of war and disconnection, yet our bodies still carry an original intelligence that remembers belonging, reciprocity, love, and connection with the living world. At this pivotal moment of cultural transformation, healing requires rebuilding trust in the body as our compass. The invitation is to honor what we feel without needing proof, reclaim embodied wisdom, and remember that our knowing has always been real—even if it has gone unnamed or unwitnessed. Safety First, Part Two: Teaching the Body It Can Rest
Your brain's primary job is to keep you safe. It is constantly scanning your environment, relationships, experiences, and even your own body for signs of potential danger. This protective system operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The challenge is that when you don't feel safe—in your environment, workplace, relationships, finances, or even within your own body—your nervous system can remain in a state of protection. Over time, this can become your default setting. You may find yourself bracing, worrying, overthinking, tightening, or feeling unable to fully relax, often without realizing it. The good news is that your body can learn a new experience. Through gentle movement, conscious breathing, and mindful awareness, you can begin reassuring your nervous system that, in this moment, you are safe. These simple practices help shift the body out of protection and into restoration, allowing healing processes that have been waiting beneath the surface to emerge. The practice I'm sharing with you today is a Yin practice—a slow, restful, and restorative experience designed to cultivate greater safety, release, and connection within the body. Unlike practices that ask you to push harder or do more, this practice invites you to soften, listen, and receive. Movement is one of the body's natural ways of completing the stress response cycle. As tension begins to unwind, emotions, memories, sensations, or unexpected feelings may arise. If they do, know that this is completely natural. Nothing has gone wrong. Meet whatever arises with gentleness, curiosity, and compassion. There is no need to fix, judge, or change anything. Simply allow yourself to witness and welcome your experience. As you move through this practice, remember: All is well. You do not need to protect yourself from this moment. You are safe enough to soften. You are safe enough to feel. You are safe enough to be here. And whatever arises, all is welcome now. Safety First, Part One
Creating safety in your body, your nervous system, and your heart is the foundation upon which everything else is built. Every reaction, decision, relationship, and pattern emerges from your internal sense of safety—or lack thereof. The body does not hold tension randomly. Tension is a protective response. It is learned through experiences of bracing, guarding, performing, surviving, adapting, and containing emotions that may have once felt too overwhelming to express. Many people spend years trying to overcome their fears, release limiting beliefs, break unwanted patterns, or heal emotional wounds, yet until safety is established within the body and nervous system, those efforts often have limited success. The mind may understand what needs to change, but the body continues to operate from old programming designed to protect you. What often goes unnoticed is that many of our behaviors, reactions, beliefs, and coping mechanisms are not simply mental habits—they are stored within the nervous system. They become embodied responses that influence how we think, feel, and move through the world. True transformation begins not with forcing change, but with creating enough safety for the body to let go of what it has been holding. When the nervous system no longer perceives danger, it becomes possible to release patterns that once felt necessary for survival and reconnect with the deeper wisdom, resilience, and wholeness that have always been within you. Safety first. All transformation grows from there. Checking In
Regularly checking in with yourself is a powerful but often overlooked practice. It helps you recognize your emotions, understand where you feel them in your body, and identify your needs or desires. This self-awareness deepens your connection to your inner self, a sense of the sacred, and life as a whole. Sacred Rage: Good or Bad?
The role of fire in our lives is incredibly important, and yet it seems all we tend to focus on is the destruction and loss that it entails. Using fire as an asset, an opportunity, and a powerful resource is topical now, collectively and personally. I Know a Pattern When I See It
Pattern recognition is something I have become really good at, and have done for years. There is a pattern I am seeing within myself, my friends, family, clients, and the world at large. Naming the pattern is helpful, but it’s not enough. It’s what we do when we recognize the pattern that matters most! “I’d Like To Share, May I Please Have Your Attention?”
In today’s episode I peel back the layers to reveal a core truth that many of us are unable or unwilling to name, or one we avoid or default to out of programming or habit. Beyond Pain, Trauma, and the Stories That Define Us
In this introductory episode, I share a little about who I am, my journey, and the inspiration behind this podcast. We explore the powerful concept of "Re-Divining Yourself"—reexamining and redefining who you are beyond the labels, limitations, and stories you've accumulated throughout your life. I open up about my experience with chronic pain following a bicycle accident in college and the profound lessons it taught me about living in a body defined by my painful accident. When pain becomes constant, the last place you often want to be is in your own body. Yet, that experience became a doorway to deeper self-awareness, healing, and spiritual growth. Together, we'll examine how many of us unconsciously define ourselves by our past wounds, trauma, family-of-origin stories, careers, fears, diagnoses, and perceived limitations. These identities can become prisons that keep us disconnected from our true nature. What if you are more than your pain? More than your history? More than the stories you've been told about who you are? This episode invites you to remember that you are, first and foremost, a spiritual being having a human experience. Through the process of "Re-Divining Yourself," you'll begin to explore a more expansive, authentic definition of who you are—one rooted not in fear or limitation, but in possibility, purpose, and the Divine essence within. Join me as we begin the journey of reclaiming your identity, reconnecting with your spirit, and discovering who you are beyond the stories that no longer serve you.
