Read Our Lips: A Spicy Little Book Club

About Read Our Lips: A Spicy Little Book Club

Read Our Lips is the filthy little book club that got drunk, lost its dignity, and wandered into the wild world of spicy fiction. Every week, hosts Gayle, a brave newcomer discovering that books can be considerably less wholesome than advertised, Rebecca, a seasoned connoisseur of cliterature, and Mathew, a brutally honest reader armed with strong opinions and a low tolerance for s**t, tackle a quarter of the same gloriously unhinged novel. Together they dissect every raised eyebrow, every questionable life choice, every ridiculous trope, every accidental emotional breakdown, and every chapter that leaves them staring into the middle distance wondering how things escalated quite so quickly. Part book club, part group therapy session, part investigation into what exactly possesses people to write these stories, Read Our Lips dives deep into forbidden fantasies, morally questionable love interests, suspiciously wealthy men, devastatingly attractive disasters, and enough tension to short-circuit a Kindle. Whether they're swooning, cringing, cackling, blushing, or questioning the structural integrity of the furniture described in a particular scene, the gang explores why spicy books inspire such passionate reactions and why no two readers ever seem to experience them the same way. You don't need a literature degree. You don't need prior experience. You don't even need to know your enemies-to-lovers from your billionaire-with-trauma. Just grab the book, read along at a human pace, and join three increasingly unhinged hosts as they descend chapter by chapter into romance, chaos, lust, heartbreak, and the occasional moment of genuine literary merit. It's smut. It's analysis. It's cultural commentary. It's oversharing. And frankly, some of these authors have a lot to answer for. Recorded at The Variety Bar Glasgow for No Mean Radio.
