But these are also items that are really useful to buy for any new home!</p>

Itβs almost compulsory at this point. You drag your parents along, you overfill the trolley with essentials you will definitely need and junk you probably wonβt, but you tell yourself you might. You get to the till and itβs far more expensive than you thoughtβ¦ you swear half the items were only Β£1! I have to say, Iβm guilty of this trip, we all are, right? But is it sustainable? Do we need to buy everything brand new? Is Ikea products the only option?</p> <p>As Iβm going into my fourth year of being a student, itβs really come to my attention the throwaway culture at university. We buy something new and cheap, which we use for a short period of time before it wears out, breaks or gets left on the side of the road. Itβs convenient but not sustainable. And Iβm not even convinced in the long run it is cheaper. In this blog post, Iβm going to take you through some alternative options for buying your essentials for university, whether youβre a fresher or your returning for another year.</p>
