Before his elected position with HUFOH, Garrick Co-Founded the States Developmental Football League in which he serves as commissioner. His journey in business and sports has been featured in several magazines and journals throughout the years. Garrick played five seasons in the National Football League, as well as five seasons in the Canadian Football League. In this episode, we are joined by Dave Payne who is currently the Vice President of Health, Environment, and Safety for Chevron. Dave has been working in the Oil and Gas industry for 39 years. He graduated with a degree in petroleum and natural gas engineering from Penn State University in 1981 and immediately joined Getty Oil Company in Santa Maria California. He worked in California, Trinidad, and Tobago, Louisiana, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Thailand. In 2006 he became the Vice President of Drilling and Completions for Chevron. His career has transitioned from a focus on technical issues to people and leadership development.
