RecThera Podcast 044 : Drox

For the forty fourth episode and potentially the last is a live gig recording of mine from the last Got Music party. The series has closed up 44 episodes in seven years. I’ve met some amazing people and had a chance to showcase my friends and peers doing their thing. Musically the series has had a lot of variety and has been a conduit for me to discover and re-discover so much great music. I hope it has been the same for some of you too. With this thought it felt fitting to include the recording of my set at the last GOT Music party featuring Dro Carey and Julien Mier in April which coincidently marked the 5th anniversary of the party series. I’m really proud to have been a part of Got Music, it’s a special party that fits into its own little pocket of the Sydney dance music scene. My set was 9-11pm prior to Julien’s live set and I feel like a good representation of all the music I’m really digging at the moment. I did get excited and burn through a lot of tracks: fifty eight in total!! Expect dubby broken beat, 80’s industrial moments, otherworld funkiness, tape delay, red planet, alongside brand new discoveries like Deepchild’s Baller, Compass Point by Machìna alongside a bunch of others. RecThera Podcast 043 : florian

This is a regular podcast of mostly guest DJ mixes and live sets from producers, live acts and DJ's who are rising or established talent. For the forty third episode we invite @andrew-chuter aka florian a veteran of the Sydney underground who has been active since the mid 90's, playing at legendary parties such as who played at legendary parties such as Freaky Loops 1, 2 & 3, the Sydney leg of Apollo 98 and Phunky Acid Bubblebath. florian was also active initiating and presenting the 2ser community radio shows Dark Energy and Biorhythms. Both of these radio shows and the associated events were a big inspiration for me musically in my younger days so it is a treat to have florian record this mix for the show. Subscribe via iTunes - apple.co/2Zd51cs Interview & Tracklist - https://shorturl.at/Gk8Dk In this episode florian traverses driving synthetic percussion and warped electro bass lines to conjure up a sonic tapestry titled The Fear of Freedom which clocks in at just over 60 minutes incorporating high energy, lush pads, deeper moments and even a sprinkling of Kraftwerk reinterpreted for the modern dancefloor. Kick back, put the phone on silent and enjoy the ride. Tracklist 1. Sigma 3 - Linkwood [Firecracker] 2. We come to rock non stop (florian's remix) - Kraftwerk vs Paranoid London [Self Released] 3. This is a regular podcast of mostly guest DJ mixes and live sets from producers, live acts and DJ's who are rising or established talent. Subscribe via iTunes: apple.co/2Zd51cs Interview & Tracklist : https://shorturl.at/jObY2 Guests are encouraged to explore a bit further into their collections with an opportunity to step away from the dance floor if they desire. For the forty first episode we invite Jay White, GOT Music alumni back again, he previously put together Episode 41, this time approaching things from a slightly different angle. I really enjoy JAy's mixes, they more often than not take me down a rabbit hole of new labels and producers that I had not come across and this mix is no different. The mix is Slow Life Initialising, in his words is the process of embracing a lifestyle that emphasises a more intentional and deliberate approach to daily life, focusing on quality over quantity and slowing down to appreciate the present moment. I agree that the mix is embodies this concept, I've had a great couple of listens, while busy with my work day and also will full focus and attention on the speakers. I enjoyed the latter much more and encourage you to do the same. As always, turn it up lock in and enjoy the music! Tracklist 1. Jade - KiloWatts [KiloWatts Music] 2. Temo - Marenn Sukie [Otaku] 3.
