With expertise in food waste education and behavioural change, Annika is passionate about tackling the food waste issue from an environmental and social perspective. ⁠</p> <p>⁠💬 “The trend that I have seen is that COVID has changed our relationship with food and particularly for the better. More Australians are purchasing more consciously and purposefully, and they are making what they’ve got go further.” ⁠</p> <p>⁠🌏 OzHarvest rescues good food that would otherwise go to waste and redistributes it to people in need. In Australia, there are 5 million people who rely on food relief every single year. And since COVID, there has been a 47% increase in demand for food relief services. ⁠</p>

She truly understands the value of innovation as a catalyst for the materials revolution and highlights our role as users within scientific leadership.</p> <p>Veena founded the <a href="https://www.smart.unsw.edu.au/technologies-products/microfactorie-technologies/green-ceramics">Green Ceramics MICROfactorieTM</a>, which produces a new generation of high performance, non-toxic, engineered bio-composites for use in various architectural and decorative applications.
