Moonstruck with Astro's Nick Brown
Have dinner and a movie with me and filmmaker/hospitality connoisseur Nick Brown! Nick directed the 2022 short film "The Walkup" and was a second unit director on "Son of the South" (now streaming on Amazon Prime). Nick watched Moonstruck for the first time during the pandemic and loved it, as do I! Listen in as we draw a through-line through the film industry, the comfort of food and beverage, Brooklyn, the virtue of being lucky, and Italian Americans (this mostly comes from me). We both love this movie, so it's a fun gush fest to listen to. Welcome back to ReelSaucey - bon appetit! Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels with Paradise Hospitality's Jaime Felber
Have dinner and a movie with me and Jaime Felber, owner of Mister Paradise, Pretty Ricky's, and the newly opened Wiggle Room (among other downtown NY hotspots). Jaime's a London man and he picked a quintessentially London movie - Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. It's got everything. Gambling, crime, boozing, violence, fraternity, and Vinnie Jones. Listen in on how all this was formative to Jaime as a wee boy in London. We also talk New York nightlife, the heartbreak of closing a business, and Amy Adams! Bon appetit!
