Reel Sick Podcast ... Its a Movie podcast but better?
Four friends—Kris, Dylan, Jim, and Casey—who take films way too seriously… and not seriously at all. From cult favorites and indie gems to messy blockbusters, we dive deep, talk sh*t, and chase meaning in the chaos. Each episode kicks off with a quote from the movie, then unravels into passionate takes, weird connections, and the kind of conversations you’d have after a midnight screening. If you love movies and can handle a little madness, you’ll feel right at home.
This week on Reel Sick Podcast, the gang throws devil horns in the air and dives into Detroit Rock City (1999)—the loud, chaotic love letter to Kiss, teenage rebellion, and doing dumb shit with your best friends. Kris picked it for the nostalgia, Dylan didn’t expect to like it (but did), Casey’s all about the absurdity, and Jim unpacks the deeper layers beneath the slapstick. From boarding school escapes to scalpers and strip clubs, the crew explores the film’s over-the-top comedy, ‘70s vibes, and the eternal power of music to shape identity, piss off parents, and make a night unforgettable.

Episode 43 - The Commitments (1991)
This week on Reel Sick Podcast, the crew watches The Commitments (1991), a film about building a soul band in Dublin with absolutely no budget, no experience, and way too much attitude. Kris relates to the chaos, Dylan wants more sax, Casey can’t decide if it’s a music movie or a comedy, and Jim’s just here for the drummer.

Episode 42 - Kneecap (2024)
This week on Reel Sick Podcast, the crew dives headfirst into the politically charged chaos of KNEECAP (2024)—a punked-out, ketamine-laced origin story of the Irish-language rap group that blew up and pissed off all the right people. Dylan brings the pick and the passion, Kris appreciates the raw filmmaking and brotherly bond, Casey vibes with the visual chaos and claymation comedowns, while Jim wrestles with the film’s tone, politics, and “douchey” protagonists. The gang debates art vs. realism, subtitles vs. slang, and whether DJ Próvaí is actually the best actor in the movie.
