Reference Tracks with Dan Hughley

Guest Dan Hughley is a musician, music lover, and Senior Manager of Brand Marketing for Focusrite. Focusrite has partnered with Omni Sound Project on a ton of great educational events and Dan and I became friends in the process. But when he and his wife announced a move to Montana (my beloved second home), I knew he’d be a friend for life! In this chat, we share our love of the music of our youth, old MTV videos, and local record stores.

Dan’s Reference Tracks

Smells Like Teen Spirit – Nirvana

Nuthin but a G Thang – Dr. Dre

Jump – Van Halen

Exciting news! I *think* I’ve figured out a way for us to listen to our guests’ chosen songs again (after Spotify removed the feature earlier this year). I’ve created a super secret unlisted playlist over on YouTube that only Substack subscribers can access. When set to autoplay, the playlist will include the music that my guests and I talk about - give it a whirl by clicking the link at the bottom of the Substack post… and let me know how it goes.

Reference Tracks features conversations with musicians, artists, and audio engineers about the songs that impacted their lives and careers, hosted by Lisa Machac of Omni Sound Project.

Omni Sound Project is a welcoming, inclusive community made up of music makers of all stripes.
