The life and thoughts of a pretty normal middle-aged, middle-class, suburban dad. Also doubling as a mental health exercise to maintain what little shreds of sanity I have left.
I’ll cover home life with 2 kids and a bread-winner wife, sports, news, rants, raves, and of course whiskey and craft beer. And naturally whatever else is going on in my life that week.
It was a weekend of unfortunate events. Nothing terrible or unrecoverable or that ruined the weekend. But it just kept the weekend from really feeling like a success or relaxing. 2 steps forwards, 2 steps back.
The new dishwasher is in. Which is the key outcome of the weekend. But of course there was no shortage of trials and tribulations. But I guess alls well that ends well. Or something.
Lowe's is getting dangerously close to unforgiven territory. We've all heard my rants about skipping Thanksgiving to fill the stores with Christmas decore. But now they're skipping Halloween, too! {deep breaths}

Now My Puppy Also Hates Teslas
My puppy learned a valuable lesson: never trust a f’n Tesla. They’re like really smug BWMs except the drivers may or may not be trusting a buggy software platform to control the 4,000 lbs death machine.
Purdue Football got a win!! We took down Illinois in an exciting, but comfortable-ish finish. We weren’t supposed to get any, and we already have 1. The ceiling is the roof, baby!
And for the first time ever, a family member has unfriended me on Facebook after I called out his latest misinformation meme. I’m surprised it’s taken this long given some of the battles that happened during the election run-up. Should add some nice spice to Christmas this year.

It's a Long Way To The Top If You Let People Turn Left For No Reason
Well, we survived a weekend of epic rain. Thanks to me and my pop-up tent, thank you very much. And I made some chicken stock from all the raw chicken bones I’ve been hoarding. You’ll thank me in like 2 months when my gravy hits.
Our hockey antagonists completely let me down, but AC/DC did not. Not their best show ever, but they’re like 100 years old now. And only 1/2 the band is there. It was a great show and the kids loved it.
And yeah, I’ve got a grievance to air. You silly people that stop to let other folks turn left in front of you for NO FRIGGIN REASON. It just doesn’t end well. Pocket your selfish altruism and just drive your stupid car.
