๐ When Did We Stop Caring About Halloween? | Masks, Doorbell Chaos & Going to Bed Early | Not So Deep Thoughts Okay, I have to warn you โ I am wearing a mask in this episode. A raven. A crow. Something from Target that I can only describe as โEyes Wide Shut but open.โ Is it a gimp outfit? Is it a masquerade? Honestly, unclear. But what is clear is that at some point, adults quietly stop caring about Halloween โ and Iโm here to ask: when exactly did that happen for you? In this episode of Not So Deep Thoughts, weโre getting into: ๐ญ The mask situation โ what Target is selling and why I now own it ๐ The evolution of womenโs Halloween costumes (from โsexy nurseโ to โIโm too old for thisโ) ๐ฐ Disney adults and why I am firmly not one of them ๐๏ธ Why trick-or-treaters are a threat in my house (Tank WILL lose his mind, the cat WILL disappear) ๐ฏ๏ธ The bah-humbug household โ lights dim, nobody home ๐ฌ Going to bed for Halloween and buying discount candy on November 1st ๐ The couples costume question โ did you and your partner ever do matching? This oneโs quick, cozy, and deeply relatable if youโre over 40 and the holiday excitement has quietly... faded. ๐ Want to be on the podcast or send a topic idea? Can You Age Gracefully? And What Does That Even Mean?!
๐ต Aging Gracefully? Let's Be Honest About What That Actually Means at 52 | Reinventing Rumbley My husband just bought a shoehorn. We are two seconds away from tiptoeing into the nursing home and I have THOUGHTS. ๐ In this honest, funny, and surprisingly moving episode Christina takes on the topic she's been sitting with lately โ aging. What it really looks like. What it actually feels like. And whether gracefully is even the right word for any of it. This one is personal. Really personal. From secretly keeping notes on how many times Doug can't hear her at dinner (hearing aids: he refuses), to watching her parents get older, to lying awake worrying about Alzheimer's and dementia at 52 โ Christina goes to all the places most people avoid. In this episode she covers: Doug and the shoehorn: the moment she knew they were maturing whether they liked it or not Gen X nostalgia: drinking from scorching hot Florida hoses, no helmets, no seatbelts, merry-go-rounds designed to make you vomit, and getting the sleeping bag caught in the bike spokes and flying headfirst over the handlebars ๐ The very real fear of Alzheimer's and dementia โ and why watching the people around her is keeping her up at night Doug's hearing loss from his rock and roll days โ why the doctor told him not to get a hearing aid unless he plans to wear it forever โ and why he is now just peacefully tuning out entire dinner conversations ๐ Secretly logging how many times he can't hear her and what he said about that Aging parents: the sandwich generation is real โ 47% of adults in their 40s and 50s will become caregivers 80% of breast cancers in women occur after age 50 โ and what that means for showing up for our health Botox: do you, no judgment, here's Christina's favorite finger for anyone who disagrees ๐ Why every single line on your face is an earned stripe โ visible or not The internal scars nobody can see and why we should stop cursing at the slow person in the grocery line Why you ain't gonna defy gravity or time and why that might actually be the most liberating truth of all Glass half full at 52: Coca-Cola vices, pearly white gates, and hoping she earned a seat upstairs The final message: stay curious, stay honest, and live the absolute hell out of this life because we can't take it with us This one will make you laugh and then quietly think for a while. ๐ค

Not So Deep Thoughts: Brain Fog
Perimenopause Brain Fog Is Real & Nobody Warned Me | Iron Deficiency, Blood Work & Forgetting Everything | Not So Deep Thoughts I went to my bathroom to get something. Ended up standing in my laundry room with absolutely no idea how I got there or what I came for. ๐ I'm 52 years old. I am turning into a grandmother without the grandkids. And it is genuinely freaking me out. In this short, funny, and surprisingly informative episode of Not So Deep Thoughts, Christina goes fully in on perimenopause brain fog โ what it is, why it happens, what her bloodwork actually revealed, and the vitamin combination mistake she was making that was making everything worse. This episode covers: The laundry room incident, the glasses on the face incident, and the note in her phone that says "don't forget to check the mail" Why 60% of women going through perimenopause and menopause experience brain fog they cannot explain Why you should never Google your symptoms and why AI is actually worse than Google for medical rabbit holes ๐ Getting 11 vials of blood drawn while fasting, hating needles, emotionally vomiting to the phlebotomist, and getting scolded for raising her arm after The blood work results from Superpower โ biologically 50.2 at age 52, 83 out of 100 on the health scale, and genuinely winning The real reason behind her brain fog: iron deficiency โ which a LOT of women experience during perimenopause and menopause The calcium blocker nobody told her about โ and why taking calcium and iron at the same time cancels them both out The vitamin C and iron combination trick that Claude told her and her doctor did not ๐ Seven pills in the morning, nine at night, and the oil burp situation when you lay down too fast Doug forgetting things at 58 with zero hormonal excuse โ and Christina wanting answers Why men absolutely do not want this and we are confirming that right now Short. Real. Funny. And actually useful if you've been standing in rooms wondering why you're there. ๐ค ๐ฉ Email Christina: ReinventingRumbley@gmail.com ๐ Subscribe โ new episodes every Wednesday โญ Leave a 5-star review โ it genuinely helps more than you know ๐ Drop a comment: What's your most unhinged brain fog moment?
