Where healing meets honesty.
Hosted by a Black woman therapist who's seen it all—from real life to the therapy room—Unmuted is a bold, emotionally intelligent space where we untangle relationships, trauma, identity, and the boundaries that hold it all together.
This one’s for the strong ones. The over-thinkers. The ones carrying too much and still showing up.
Expect raw reflections, spoken word, deep dives, and the kind of insight that makes you pause mid-episode like, “whew... that’s me.”
Unmute yourself. Join the conversation.
One Year of Relational Rants: Finding My Voice, Purpose & Connection
It’s been one year of Relational Rants, and this episode is a little different.
I’m looking back at how this podcast started, why the name evolved, and what I’ve learned about myself along the way. Turns out, letting people watch you think can be a creative endeavor too. I might not be drawing Picassos, but I hope I’m illustrating something important.
I talk about what it means to find your voice, the vulnerability of putting yourself out there, and how much the simple act of being acknowledged can matter. Sometimes support isn’t a big celebration. Sometimes it’s just someone remembering to ask, “How’s the podcast going?”
I also reflect on finding joy in the smallest crevices of life, especially when life includes suffering, and the purpose I’ve found in creating something that helps people feel a little less alone. And, of course, I like to talk shit. I do that too.
One year later, Relational Rants is still "all things relational," and still a glimpse into how my mind works. Thank you for listening, watching, asking about it, and being part of it.

Mom Jeans: By Any Means Necessary
What happens when everyone seems to have something to say about your body before you've even had the chance to understand it for yourself?
In this episode, I reflect on growing up in a body that developed early and the complicated messages that came with it.
My body could be sexualized and desired while simultaneously being criticized, policed, and treated like something was wrong with it. I talk about being 11 or 12 years old shopping in women's departments, trying to make clothes work for a body that didn't fit what was available to girls my age.
I was wearing mom jeans before we were calling them mom jeans. I wasn't intentionally choosing clothes that didn't fit my body. I just didn't know that they didn't fit.
I learned to make things work. By any means necessary. And I've realized that's much bigger than clothes. It's part of my trauma story, It's not simply the story of what happened to me, but the story I learned to live by in order to survive it.
Make it work. Figure it out. Keep going. As I've started rebuilding my wardrobe and learning about my actual measurements, proportions, and shape, I've also started noticing just how deeply that story has infiltrated different areas of my life.
This is a rant about bodies, clothes, desirability, shame, trauma and what we can discover when we start questioning the stories that once helped us survive.

Turn Off The WiFi: Sex, Talking Points & Contradictions
A comment telling me to "turn the Wi-Fi off" turned into a much bigger reflection.
In this episode of Relational Rants, I'm looking beyond the headlines and hot takes to examine the rhetoric surrounding sex, masculinity, femininity, and the way we relate to one another.
We talk about emotions, pleasure, contradictions, value systems and the stories we keep repeating, often without realizing it.
This isn't about being anti-sex or anti-men. It's about being curious. What messages are we consuming? What assumptions are we making? And how are those narratives shaping the way we see ourselves and each other?
We're all walking contradictions. That's part of being human. Can we stop reducing each other to talking points and treat one another like human beings?
