Hosted by Pripo Teplitsky, LCMHC, a psychotherapist specializing in relationship issues. Through the experience of relationships, we get to see and understand ourselves in ways we can't do alone. Whether it be with our partners, family, friends, co-workers, or neighbors, these relationships shape our level of happiness and contentment in life. This conversational podcast takes a casual approach to deep and personal topics. Pripo and his guests are not afraid to bring a little humor into their discussions (or his solocasts) and share intimate details about their lives and relationships. For anyone with questions, concerns, or just plain curiosity about relationships, this is the perfect podcast for you.
In this solocast I talk about why does laughter go away in time in relationships. Mostly because the conditions that produce laughter in early relationships fade, not because the love does. Usually novelty fades, play gets crowded out, stress narrows attention, unresolved friction, vulnerability dips. The good news is that it's usually recoverable. I also talk about how to get your couple humor mojo back.

273. Are You Abandoning Yourself for Unavailable People?
Corey Costanzo is the Co-Owner of Asheville's Still Point Wellness Spa, a licensed addiction counselor, trauma specialist, licensed massage and bodywork therapist, master didgeridoo player, colleague, and my good friend.
In this episode, Corey and I discuss the pattern. of prioritizing people who cannot or will not fully show up for you – emotionally, consistently or mutually – while neglecting your own needs, boundaries, self-worth, and life. Corey and I share through our clinical lenses (somatic and addiction) and our own personal stories.

272. HeartShare: Do You Find it Easier to Give Than Receive
In this solocast I talk about it is often easier to give love, kindness, support, etc., than to receive them for a mix of psychological, emotional, and cultural reasons. Giving seems to feel more natural and rewarding for many people, while receiving requires vulnerability that can feel uncomfortable or evening threatening. And yet both giving and receiving are essential for healthy relationships and well-being. I also tell of a recent experience that gave me a chance to be vulnerable and receive love, support and kindness.
