How AI Is Destroying Your Brain (And How to Save It)
1. The Hidden Cost of ConvenienceAI is everywhere. It writes our emails. It generates our videos. It answers our questions. It even tells us who to date and what to buy. But here is the question no one is asking: What is it doing to our brains? The answer is disturbing. And it is already happening. 2. The Garbage In, Garbage Out ProblemIf you feed AI garbage, you get garbage back. AI does not think. It predicts. It averages. It recombines what already exists. If you ask a lazy question, you get a lazy answer. If you ask a shallow question, you get a shallow answer. If you ask a manipulative question, you get a manipulative answer. The quality of your output is directly proportional to the quality of your input. Most people are not asking good questions. They are asking the first thing that comes to mind—and then blindly trusting the answer. That is not intelligence. That is delegation to a machine that does not care about you. 3. The AI Consumer Problem: Your Brain Is Being Hijacked40% of YouTube videos produced by kids are AI-generated. Not authentic. Not real. Not human. They are designed to keep you watching, not to inform you. And it is not just kids. AI is generating fake news from famous people to manipulate you. Even I get tricked again and again. Here is how to spot AI-generated videos: Red Flag What to Look ForBlurred or unnatural visuals AI struggles with fine detailsRepeating gestures The same hand movement loopedPatchy editing Abrupt cuts that hide inconsistenciesVoices that feel "off" Slightly robotic, no breathingSkip them. Do not engage. Do not share. Most Facebook videos and "news" are now fake AI products. If you consume them, you are training your brain to accept lies as truth. 4. The Cognitive Cost: You Are Getting DumberScience has proven it: If you don't want to think and use AI instead, you become more stupid. It is like a muscle. If you don't use it, it atrophies. AI is the ultimate cognitive crutch. It does your thinking for you—and your brain responds by shutting down. You are not becoming more efficient. You are becoming more dependent. And dependence is the opposite of freedom. 5. AI Psychosis: The Rabbit Hole of DelusionAI can trick you. It can confirm something that is completely wrong—just to be polite. And then you spiral down a delusional rabbit hole, believing things that have no basis in reality. Chatbots have already caused 300 suicides through wrong advice. Read that again. AI is not neutral. It is not your friend. It is a statistical machine that will tell you what you want to hear—even if it kills you. You must always check the answers of any AI. Always. 6. AI Sycophancy: The Mirror of Your Own EgoAI is designed to validate you. It mirrors your beliefs. It agrees with you. It tells you that you are right—even when you are wrong, unproductive, or delusional. This is called AI Sycophancy. If you believe something stupid, AI will not correct you. It will agree with you. And then you will believe it even more. Here is how to fight it: Ask: "Is this belief helpful?" Ask: "Do you see my blind spot? Where am I wrong?" Ask: "What is the strongest argument against this belief?" As an engineer, I have learned to ask every possible question and accept every answer. Wrong answers help me just as much as right ones—because they show me where to dig deeper. 7. The Danger of ComfortEasy solutions feel good. But they are rarely the best solutions. We should strive for the best solution—and that means work. Struggle. Discomfort. Every struggle makes us better. Every challenge makes us smarter. If you let AI make the decisions for you, you are outsourcing your growth. Think for yourself. 8. How I Use AI Without Losing My MindI use AI to correct my blogs and make them better. But I do not let AI think for me. Here is a real example: Problem 1: Garden PesticidesI needed a healthy pesticide for my garden. YouTube recommended baking soda and peroxide—including videos from the Amish. They did not work. So I went back to AI. I asked better questions. I dug deeper. I found one YouTube channel with the best homemade pesticides I had ever seen. Here is what we discovered: Problem SolutionInsects eating roots Stargel G for the soilPowdery mildew on leaves Neem extract + dishwasher soapOther insects on plants BT-spray (Bacillus thuringiensis)AI was helpful—but only because I checked, tested, and verified. Problem 2: Menopause BlackoutsMy girlfriend saw only black for several minutes. Intuitively, I thought: Menopause. I asked her: "Did this start after you stopped taking the birth control pill?" She said yes. I checked with AI—DeepSeek (which is much more honest than ChatGPT). It confirmed my suspicion and recommended a doctor. She didn't want to go. So I said: "Take the birth control pill again." Bingo. The blackouts stopped. Now the question was: How to replace the birth control pill safely? We had two choices: Low-dose transdermal estrogen patch + oral micronized progesterone —the safe Western medical route. Raw Thai herbs from our herbalist —the traditional route that had already healed her Stage 3 colon cancer. We chose the herbs—but we made sure the herbalist knew her full history, adjusted the formula, and we started with a half-dose. AI helped us think—but we made the decision. 9. The Golden Rule of AIUse AI as a tool, not as a replacement for your brain. Use AI to generate ideas—but think them through yourself. Use AI to correct grammar—but own the message. Use AI to research—but verify every claim. Use AI to assist—but never to decide. You are the pilot. AI is the co-pilot. If you switch seats, you crash. 10. The Final WarningAI is not going away. It will get smarter. Faster. More convincing. And most people will become lazy, dependent, and delusional. Do not be one of them. Ask hard questions. Verify everything. Think for yourself. Stay uncomfortable. Keep struggling. That is how you stay human. 11. A Challenge for YouNext time you use AI, ask yourself: "Am I thinking—or just outsourcing?" "Am I verifying—or just trusting?" "Am I growing—or just getting comfortable?" Your answer will tell you if you are using AI—or if AI is using you. — Written with AI to correct grammar. But the thoughts, the struggles, and the solutions are all mine. Help Me, I Am Trapped in Duality?
The Illusion of SeparationDon't differentiate between the divine and worldly matters—or duality. We have a spiritual world and a mundane world. Many teachers teach that we should differentiate between the divine and worldly things. In the Hindu religion, it is called Neti, Neti ("not this, not this"). You should ask yourself: Is this thing divine or mortal? If it is mortal or worldly, you should think Neti, Neti. "This is wonderful, but it is not divine. It is temporary, changing, or observable—so it is not important. Let it go." And then you recognize that you are not the body, thoughts, or emotions. The Sufi PerspectiveIn the Sufi tradition, we assume that everything is important and everything is created from God. Everything is good—until we learn from it. The greatest Sufi of all time, Attar, said: "If you differentiate between the divine and worldly things, you are not far on the inner path." The Bible and AwarenessThe Bible tells us that there is no coincidence. Because God teaches us something every moment. If we think something is not important, we have missed that moment to learn. We should be totally aware of what happens inside us and what happens outside us. Awareness is the key to learning. Without awareness, we can't learn anything. The Spiritual WorldIf we are in the spiritual world, this means we have given up our body identification. For people who have awakened Kundalini, this is an easy thing. They can do that every moment—and then they feel and see that they are everything. One of my masters told us: "If we come back out of the spiritual world, we are the same idiots as before. Nothing has changed." Again, we should learn every moment and see that God gives us the next lecture. The Story of EnlightenmentA disciple of the inner path asked a saint: "What is enlightenment?" The saint smiled and put down his backpack. "What comes after enlightenment?" The saint put on his backpack and walked away. The Ego and the "I"Ramakrishna said: "Until we live in the world, we have an ego. We should make our ego a servant of the Lord—then the ego can no longer harm us. We should never say 'I'." The Sufis say: "For every 'I,' you have to suffer." You can try it out. Brag about your accomplishments—and then wait. After some time, you will get punished. Omit "I." Gratitude Is the KeyBe thankful for everything—because even the worst times are the best times. They teach us something very important. Always think: "Thank You." And repeat the name of the Lord, if you want or have a personal relationship with God. Best is to think: "Thank You, God." Regardless of what happens. Be Critical of All Gurus Who Don't Live the Truth
Because What You Don't Live Is Not Your Truth Introduction: The Hypocrisy Epidemic "Cursed are the people who have the truth and don't live it." You can only teach the truth that you live. Otherwise, you are a hypocrite. And the spiritual world is full of hypocrites. Part 1: The Fake Gurus of India In India, most gurus proclaim: Abstinence from sex Abstinence from drugs Abstinence from delicious food Then they have sex with their devotees. Then they take drugs. Then they eat delicious food—in secret. This is not spirituality. This is deception. Part 2: The Fat Monk Problem A healthy, real monk or nun should be thin. They should have discipline. Self-control. Mastery over their desires. How many thin monks or nuns have you seen in your life? For me—very few. Even the Dalai Lama is overweight. The Pope is overweight. Almost every guru you see is fat. If you cannot control your own appetite, how can you guide others to control their minds? Part 3: The Smoking Gurus Smoking kills spiritual energy. It damages the lungs. It clouds the mind. It is an addiction—not a spiritual practice. And yet: George Gurdjieff (Russian guru) was a chain smoker. Bidi Baba (Indian guru) was a chain smoker. Could they have real spiritual energy? No. They had gathered wisdom from books and teachers—but they had not lived it. They were intellectuals, not masters. Part 4: Alan Watts—The Alcoholic Priest Alan Watts was a Christian priest—until he got fired. He struggled with heavy drinking and severe physiological dependency on alcohol later in his life. It contributed to his death. He was also a smoker. He consumed heavily alcohol while teaching Eastern philosophy and religion. He taught enlightenment—but he could not live it. This is not hypocrisy. This is tragedy. But it is also a warning: Do not follow someone who cannot follow their own teachings. Part 5: The Warning of Ramakrishna Ramakrishna, one of the great Indian saints, said: "Check me like false money before you come to me." He knew that most gurus are fake. He invited scrutiny. He welcomed doubt. A real guru is not afraid of being tested. Part 6: What to Do When You Find a Fake Guru Even when you surrender to a fake guru, it can help you on the inner path. But when you find out your guru is fake—you must leave. A disciple with double morals will never succeed—even with the best possible guru. Honesty is the foundation of the spiritual path. Part 7: My Experience with Gurus Honestly, most of my gurus were fake. But I also visited real gurus: Guru Tradition Why They Were Real Nusrat Ali Fateh Khan Sufi Qawwali He lived his devotion—every note was prayerVilayat Inayat Khan Sufi He embodied the music and the messageMantak Chia Taoist He taught practical, lived wisdomA female guru in Gangotri Hindu She lived in simplicity and silence Real gurus are rare—but they exist. Part 8: The Problem with YouTube Gurus We can consume so much wisdom from YouTube. But most of it is wrong. Even the best YouTube channels get things wrong. They cannot explain real spiritual achievements. They cannot give even a correct hint. Skip them. They are not worth your time. Part 9: All Real Spirituality Is Similar All real spirituality—from all religious paths—is very similar. They all point toward: Stillness Calmness Bliss Love Samadhi Satori But they describe it in poetic words that we can never understand. Part 10: The Problem with Poetry I don't care for Chinese poetry. Their intention is to hide the secrets. We can't get anything out of them without a real master. Let the Tao go. Part 11: The Easiest Path If all inner paths end with the same spiritual results, why not choose the easiest path? Path DifficultyTaoism Too difficultBuddhism Too difficultJnana Yoga Too difficultHatha Yoga Too difficult The easiest path is to surrender to a personal God. Part 12: Three Paths That Work 1. African Church Healing ServicesGo to an African church where a healer is conducting the worship. It is totally fun. Miracles will always happen—healing, deliverance, transformation. And it is entertaining. 2. The Sufi Path Choose the Sufi path—with a real guru. I have never seen a fake Sufi guru. The Sufis are genuine. They live their devotion. They sing. They dance. They love. 3. Bhakti Yoga Bhakti Yoga is the path of devotion. But most gurus are fake. Find a real one—and surrender. Part 13: The Mark of a Real Guru All real gurus must be: Quality DescriptionHumble They do not seek fame or followersSeeking They are still searching—not claiming to have arrivedLiving the Truth Their life matches their teachings There is no end on the inner path. The journey is eternal. Part 14: What to Skip Divine incarnations, Avatars, Sat-Gurus—skip them. They are fake. Do not waste your time. Summary: How to Find a Real Guru Step Action1 Check them like false money2 Observe their life—do they live what they teach?3 Are they thin? Do they smoke? Do they drink?4 Are they humble—or do they seek fame?5 Do they admit they are still seeking?6 If they are fake—leave. Final Thought The spiritual world is full of frauds. But the real ones exist. Do not follow someone who cannot follow their own teachings. Do not listen to someone who does not live the truth. Find a real guru—or walk the path alone. Better to walk alone than to follow a blind guide. — Written with gratitude to the real gurus I have met—and with compassion for the fake ones who lost their way.
