Most people use AI to do the work they already did, only faster. The larger change is work that was never worth doing before: software built for one person, a daily view of every client instead of a monthly report, routine services that become features of a larger offering. Even people who started their careers with AI miss it, because a profession hands down its list of tasks, and what is missing from the list never comes up.
