第5回 平野啓一郎さん（作家）
第5回のゲストは『日蝕』で第120回芥川賞を受賞し、最新作『ある男』も話題の作家・平野啓一郎さん。20年前のデビュー作であり芥川賞受賞作『日蝕』では15世紀のフランスを舞台に、「森鴎外を基礎とした」という懐古的な文体でしたが、時代を経て、インターネットやSNSの出現、テロが日常的に起こる21世紀の現代社会において、文体も自然と変わってきたといいます。また、結婚し子どもが生まれたことでライフスタイルが大きく変化したことも、自信の作品に大きく影響しているそう。「『ある男』では読者に文学的な深みを体験してもらいたかった。今はネットを通じて読者の反応が届くようになっていて、読者は小説の終わりに希望を強く求めている。僕はそれに答えるべきだと思う」と話しました。そんな平野啓一郎さんにとって「文学」とは？
