Hello everyone, and greetings to all fellow cultivators! Welcome to The Voices of Heavenly Tao, your spiritual GPS for navigating the chaos of the modern world.
Based on the profound scriptures compiled through the compassion of Bodhisattva Yueh-Hui, this podcast bridges ancient Eastern wisdom with our everyday modern struggles. As we navigate the current era of the White Sun (White Yang), we explore what it truly means to connect with the authentic Lineage of the Tao.
Why is receiving the Tao the ultimate switch for spiritual awakening? How can we utilize the Three Treasures—the Holy gate,
【Tao Te Ching】 Chapter 4 Part 3|The One Who Was Here Before You Were Born
The final two lines of Chapter 4 are where Lao Tzu stops describing the Tao "out there" and points, unmistakably, at what is nearer to you than your own thoughts. In this last of three parts, Leo and Amy sit with "transparent indeed; perhaps it exists" — the quiet awareness that's always present but never shouts — and then with the boldest line of all: that the Tao existed "before the creator, before creation." Not a ranking above anyone's God, but a pointing past every image the mind can form, toward the source that was here before the first thought. Through the question your eye can't answer (can it see itself?), a Zen pointer toward your "original face," and resonances from the Quran and the Gospel of John, they bring the whole chapter home: there is something in you that was never made, never born, untouched by every season of your life. The episode closes with a two-step practice for meeting it, and a question to carry: if something was here before you were born — and it's here right now — would you be willing to turn and meet it?

【Tao Te Ching】 Chapter 4 Part 2|Blunt the Edge, Untie the Knot
At the heart of Chapter 4 are four short instructions that are less philosophy than daily survival: blunt the sharp edge, untie the inner knot, soften your glare, and settle in among the ordinary. In this second of three parts, Leo and Amy bring each one down into the texture of a real day — the sharp reply you draft in a group chat, the argument you replay at eleven at night, the quiet superiority that creeps in when you think you're more "awake" than the people around you, the urge to stand apart from the messy ordinary world. Drawing on the story of two monks and a river, a hexagram where every line is fortunate, and a hard-won line about the space between stimulus and response, they show that none of this is about suppressing yourself. It's about seeing the edge before it cuts, and discovering that what you were so busy defending was never solid to begin with. Four movements, one direction: stop using force, and let your truer nature meet the world gently.

【Tao Te Ching】 Chapter 4 Part 1|The Cup Is Useful Because It's Empty
We're taught that strength comes from having more — more knowledge, more certainty, more to say. Chapter 4 of the Tao Te Ching turns that inside out. Lao Tzu calls the Tao "empty," like the hollow of a cup — and says that precisely because it's empty, you can pour from it forever and it never runs dry. In this first of three parts, Leo and Amy explore why the emptiness is the whole point: it's the space inside the cup that holds the tea, the silence that lets the music sound, the room that makes a conversation possible. Through the old story of the overflowing teacup, a simple doorway practice, and a turn toward "the source of all things," they invite you to discover something quietly radical — that the source you keep searching for out there may be the very thing doing the searching. Not a teaching to collect, but a cup to set down. Come empty-handed, and notice what flows in.
