About Restaurant Season — The Story of Opening, Running & Surviving a Restaurant
What does it really take to build a great restaurant?
Emma Reed thinks she knows.
After more than a decade inside ambitious restaurants, she has spent years imagining what she would do differently if the place were hers. Better food. Better service. Better decisions. No careless compromises.
Then she opens Luna.
Restaurant Season is a serialized fictional audio drama about ambition, hospitality, money, pressure, leadership—and the thousand interconnected decisions behind a restaurant guests experience for only a few hours.
Follow Emma as the restaurant she has imagined for years becomes real, and as she discovers that knowing what excellence looks like is very different from building an organization capable of producing it.
The problems rarely arrive all at once. They begin as reasonable decisions, small compromises, overlooked signals and victories that carry consequences of their own.
And sometimes, you will see what is happening before Emma does.
Start with Episode One.
Once Luna opens its doors, every decision matters.
Luna is finally beginning to stabilize, but Emma knows that surviving each problem is not the same as building a restaurant that can endure. As she brings Sofia, Luca, Mireille, and Daniel into the decisions differently, Emma begins to understand what ownership actually requires: deciding what deserves complexity, giving other people real authority, and building a restaurant that can remain exceptional without depending on her for every answer.

Ep.9 We Did Tell You
Elena’s resignation forces Emma to revisit the warning signs she missed and the decisions she thought were helping. As Sofia shows her how Luna has learned to depend on Emma for every important answer, Emma faces a harder test: allowing the team to solve a real service problem without her.

Luna is full, reviews are strong, and reservations are becoming difficult to get. From the outside, the restaurant looks like a success; inside, rising overtime, purchasing, and operating pressure force Emma to confront an uncomfortable question: what if being busy is hiding the real problem?
