Surrounded, Not Defeated: What to Do When You Feel Surrounded | Luke Simpson | Revelation Church STL
Surrounded, Not Defeated: What to Do When You Feel Surrounded | Luke Simpson | Revelation Church STL Ever felt surrounded by loss, loneliness, anxiety, or a problem with no way out? Elisha's servant woke up to an army surrounding the city, but the prophet prayed one prayer: "Lord, open his eyes so that he may see." In this message from 2 Kings 6 and Ephesians 1, we look at the difference between what you can see and what is actually real. The enemy never sells you the cage, he sells you the cheese, but no weapon formed against you will prosper. We look at why too many Christians surrender to an enemy that is already defeated, why praying timid, safe prayers is not the same as faith, and how "fake piety" keeps us from asking the God of the impossible to do the impossible. Discover what it looks like to stop staring at the size of your problems and start seeing the size of your God, because there is more with you than there is with them. Scripture References: Ephesians 1:17-20 2 Kings 6:8-17 Isaiah 54:17 John 10:10 John 9:39-41 Mark 11:23 Hebrews 11:6 Psalm 50:10 Romans 10:9-10 Next Steps & Staying Connected: 🙌 Gave your life to Christ today? The Blessing for Those Who Linger | Luke Simpson | Revelation Church STL
Have you ever been in church, felt God move, and then walked out like nothing happened? Moses met with God face to face, but it was the one who stayed behind, Joshua, who led God’s people into the Promised Land. In this message from Exodus 33, we look at the tent of meeting, where the Lord spoke with Moses “as one speaks with a friend,” and at Joshua, who did not leave the tent. From the garden to the cross to the Holy Spirit now living inside every believer, God’s plan has always been to dwell with His people. When everyone else moved on, Joshua lingered, and there is a blessing for those who linger: freedom from addiction, anxiety, and depression, forgiveness from guilt and shame, and a new sense of purpose. Discover what it looks like to stay in God’s presence until His work is finished, and why an encounter with Him always sends you out to bring others in. The message closes with a time of prayer for healing and a blessing over the church. Why You Feel Stuck in the Same Place (And How God Is Moving) | Luke Simpson | Revelation Church STL
Do you ever feel like you’re stuck going in circles—praying the same prayers, fighting the same battles, and showing up to church week after week without seeing any real progress? When life gets cloudy, our feelings can lie to us, convincing us that we’re trapped in a rut and going nowhere. But feeling like you aren't moving doesn't mean God has stopped leading you. In this message from Psalm 23, we look at how shepherds guide their sheep up steep terrain in Judean wilderness paths called magalei—switchback loops that feel like repetitive circles, but are actually gaining elevation with every turn. Just as pilots must rely on their flight instruments rather than their emotions when experiencing spatial disorientation, we must trust God’s Word over our temporary feelings. Stop waiting for life to get easier before you find peace; discover how praising God in the middle of the battle changes your perspective and reveals His presence right where you are. Do you ever feel like you’re constantly busy, but still wondering if your life is actually counting for something? Or maybe you know God has a purpose for you, but you keep letting fear, excuses, or comfort hold you back?In this message from Esther 4, we look at how God places us in specific positions "for such a time as this"—and why we so easily miss our calling by staying trapped in busyness or looking back at what we left behind. Why God Calls Himself the God of Jacob | REDEFINED | Pastor Luke Simpson | Revelation Church STL
Do you ever feel like you’ve made too many mistakes, carry too much baggage, or simply aren't qualified for God to use you? In this final message of our series, REDEFINED: Discovering Your God-Given Identity, Pastor Luke Simpson dives into Exodus 3 and the life of Moses to answer a powerful question: Why does God repeatedly introduce Himself as "the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob" instead of using Jacob's redeemed name, Israel? Jacob was a deceiver who struggled, stumbled, and often slipped back into his old ways—yet God chose to tie His very name to him forever. Through the lives of Moses and Jacob, Pastor Luke reveals that God isn't looking for perfect people; He’s looking for people who will cling to Him through every struggle. If you’ve ever felt disqualified by your past or messy in your present, know this: God isn't just the God of the flawless—He is the God of the imperfect, and He is your God today. Your Location Is Not Your Identity | REDEFINED | Pastor Luke Simpson | Revelation Church STL
Are you trying to quiet a storm that God is using to wake you up? Are you sleeping on your calling, delaying obedience, or feeling trapped in a season that doesn't make sense? In this message, Pastor Luke Simpson continues our sermon series, REDEFINED: Discovering Your God-Given Identity. Looking at the story of Jonah, Pastor Luke unpacks what happens when there is a disconnect between who God made us to be and how we are actually living. While some life storms hit when we are on mission, other storms arise when we’re running from God's direction. In those moments, we don't just need a word to calm the storm—we need to obey what God last told us to do.Whether you feel like you've messed up too much, feel stuck in a dead-end assignment, or are afraid to step into what’s next, remember this core truth: Your location is temporary, but your identity in God is eternal. God isn't finished with you, and your calling will always find you when you choose to follow Him.PLAN A VISITJoin us this Sunday in Creve Coeur or connect with us online:https://revchurchstl.com/CONNECT WITH USInstagram: https://instagram.com/revchurchstlFacebook: https://Facebook.com/revchurchstlSubscribe for more weekly messages: @RevChurchSTL
