   Dominion | C3 Nairobi

If a hundred million landed in your account today, would you still go to work on Monday? Your honest answer reveals what you are really working for. This message argues that money was never the point. Before sin entered the story, God blessed the first humans and gave them a mandate: be fruitful, fill the earth, subdue it and rule over it (Genesis 1:28). Work, skill and enterprise were part of God's design from the beginning, and that calling has never been withdrawn. Stepping into it takes faith, the kind the priests showed when they walked into a flooded Jordan before the waters held back. The sermon presses past the question of how much you earn to ask whose it is and what it is for. Jesus warned that life does not consist in the abundance of possessions, and that the heart follows its treasure. Owning things often ends with things owning you. So believers work as stewards rather than owners, measuring success by the kingdom of God instead of profit or power. Integrity stops being optional, whether that means refusing a bribe, keeping honest scales or paying wages on time, because people judge God by how His people do business. From there the message sets out how to put your skills to work for God's kingdom: seek it first, hold everything as a steward, deal honestly when no one is checking, work as though for the Lord, build for the generation after you, trust God beyond what you can see, love the people you lead, and take the faithful risks Jesus commends in the parable of the talents. In this episode: What a windfall question reveals about why you work Why the mandate to rule creation came before the fall Why owning things often ends with things owning you How honest scales and fair wages reveal the character of God Why business can be ministry, and faithfulness means using what you have been given Your work was never only about the money. Why We Tithe | C3 Nairobi

Will God curse you if you don't tithe? Most of us have heard some version of that warning, usually with a threat attached. This message takes the question head on, and the answer is better news than fear ever offered. The tithe, a tenth of income given to the church, is often dismissed as an Old Testament rule that passed away with the law. Yet the first tithe in Scripture appears centuries before the law was given, when Abraham, a man who walked with God by faith, gave a tenth to Melchizedek. So the practice still stands. What has changed is the curse. Malachi's warning was true for Israel under the old covenant, but Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us. Fear is no longer the motive. That clears away another assumption too. God does not need our money. Every animal of the forest and the cattle on a thousand hills already belong to Him. Funding the gospel matters, but it is a byproduct. What God asks for is the heart: "My son, give me your heart." Tithing becomes a practical way to remind ourselves that God, not a salary, is our source, and to choose faith over sight when every visible need pulls the other way. The message closes with a warning against treating generosity as a transaction. God is not a slot machine, and giving is not a way to bend His arm. Giving grows out of relationship with a Father who loves us whether we give or not, and our motive matters more than the amount. In this episode: Why the tithe predates the law, and what Abraham and Melchizedek show us How the cross changes the way we read Malachi 3 Why God does not need your money, and what He asks for instead Tithing as a practical step from living by sight to living by faith Why giving from relationship outlasts giving from fear or formula Generosity was never about what God could squeeze out of you; it was always about your heart. www.c3churchnairobi.com (http://www.c3churchnairobi.com)

Fixed Worth, Growing Value | C3 Nairobi

In 2007, one of the world's finest violinists played Bach in a Washington subway station on an instrument worth millions. About a thousand people walked past. He made $32. Three nights earlier, people had paid $100 a seat to hear him. Same musician. Same violin. Same music. The only thing that changed was the room. This message is about the gap between what you are worth and what you are paid. Your worth was settled by God, and no salary, invoice or rejected quote can raise or lower it. But the value you bring to the world, and what the world pays for it, can grow. It asks the question churches usually skip: how do followers of Jesus earn well, honestly and to the glory of God? It moves in three steps. First, recognise what God has placed in your hands, from Bezalel in Exodus, filled with the Spirit for craftsmanship, to the skills you may never have thought of as spiritual. Second, develop them with diligence, because rain only helps the farmer who has planted. Third, position them wisely, so you are not playing for $32 in a place that was never going to see what you carry. Along the way you will hear how a lost job, three weeks after a wedding, became the start of a new career, and why paying people well is not generosity but duty. The goal is not a bigger lifestyle. It is a bigger pie: more to steward, give and pour into family, community and the kingdom. In this episode: Why work came before the fall, and why Monday is not a curse The difference between price and value, and what a client really means when they say you are too expensive How to use wisdom in your career while staying open to God's interruptions Three ways the market pays you: for your input, your output, or the value you create How to position your work so the right people see it, from customer awareness to a simple weekly report Some are called to the subway and some to the concert hall, but nobody should stay in the subway just because they never learned the way out. www.c3churchnairobi.com (http://www.c3churchnairobi.com)
