The job-hunting system in Japan is very well-developed, whereas Taiwanese universities do not provide as much assistance to students in finding employment. Taiwanese students who want to find a job before or after graduation typically have to rely on their efforts, connections with friends and relatives, or gather information through the Internet]. The job market in Taiwan is not very friendly to liberal arts students, leading to about 70% of liberal arts graduates becoming civil servants. In contrast, in Japan, the status of science and liberal arts students is relatively equal. In Taiwan, being a teacher is becoming increasingly difficult. Taiwan's employment environment is suitable only for engineers, doctors, and civil servants, and it is generally difficult for other industries to reach a monthly salary of 50,000 NT dollars (approximately 217,470 Japanese yen) or above.
