Rice, Beans, and Scenes is a weekly, light-hearted movie podcast hosted by Andrew (“Beans”) and Sarah (“Rice”), a married duo whose movie habits are as different as their nicknames.
Andrew (Beans) is a true cinephile with encyclopedic knowledge of film across every genre. He can speak in movie lines and pop-culture references for an entire day without repeating himself.
Sarah (Rice) loves movies just as much, but with the memory of a goldfish—she’ll forget character names, plot points, and sometimes whether she’s even seen a film before. Her reactions are genuine, funny, and often completely unpredictable.
While they both adore movies, their tastes don't always align—which is the fun of it.
Each week, they trade picks: one week Sarah chooses the movie and they dive into it together; the next week Andrew takes his turn.
The result is a playful blend of silly jokes, heartfelt commentary, pop-culture tangents, character deep dives, and the unmistakable chemistry of two people who love each other—and movies—even when they disagree.
This week on Rice, Beans and Scenes, we strapped in for Top Gun: Maverick in 4DX, and let’s just say, this viewing format understood the assignment. From aerial stunts to emotional flybys, this episode had speed, nostalgia, and just enough chair-shaking chaos to make us FEEL THE NEED, FOR SPEED.
Maverick is back, and so are we.

Episode 008 - Saving Silverman
This week on Rice, Beans & Scenes, we’re rewinding to the chaotic, wildly unhinged early-2000s rom-com Saving Silverman. It’s got Jack Black BEFORE peak Jack Black, Jason Biggs in full awkward-best-friend mode, and a completely unhinged performance by Steve Zahn! This plot most likely would not be made today. Is it dumb? Yes. Is it problematic? Also yes. Is it weirdly charming anyway? Absolutely!

Episode 05 - Mrs. Doubtfire (1993)
This week on Rice, Beans, and Scenes, we revisit Mrs. Doubtfire (1993) and dive into why this film is far more than a goofy disguise flick, unpacking its surprisingly tender take on divorce, fatherhood, and showing up for the people you love.
We dive into the chaos, the wigs, the accents, and that unforgettable kitchen scene—because yes, it still hits. And at the center of it all is Robin Williams, delivering one of his most iconic performances: hilarious, heartbreaking, and impossibly human.
We talk about Williams’ unmatched ability to swing from comedy to vulnerability in a single breath, why Mrs. Doubtfire endures across generations, and how this movie quietly taught us that love doesn’t always look the way we expect—but it always shows itself.

It’s fangs, friendship, and full Halloween energy as the duo battle it out over brooding vampires and cheer for a squad of monster-fighting misfits. Tune in for the banter, stay for Rice’s brutally honest reactions.

For the very first recording of Rice, Beans, and Scenes, Andrew and Sarah kick things off with a wild one: their experience watching Jaws in 4DX—yes, the full moving seats, water sprays, ocean breezes, and sudden jolts that make you question your life choices. Andrew (“Beans”) brings his cinephile expertise, breaking down why Jaws is a masterclass in suspense, while Sarah (“Rice”) tries to remember which characters were which and whether the shark had it out for her personally.
Recorded spontaneously in their car right after the showing—with zero professional equipment—this episode is unfiltered, raw, and full of genuine laughter, chaotic commentary, and pure love for movies. It’s the perfect introduction to the fun, candid energy that defines Rice, Beans, and Scenes.
