This is the final episode of my journey with Suzuki Motor Company, focusing on its legendary former chairman, Osamu Suzuki.
My association with this remarkable man began in 1985 and continued until his passing in 2024. Under his leadership, Suzuki became a global powerhouse in key sectors of the automotive industry. Today, his legacy lives on through his son, Toshihiro Suzuki.
Capturing nearly four decades of observations, encounters, and lessons in a single episode is an impossible task. Nevertheless, I have tried to share what I learned from this extraordinary leader through my personal experiences.
I have come to the end of the road in recounting my involvement with Suzuki.
In this episode, I reflect on what a business alliance really means and how that concept played out in GM’s long-standing partnership with Suzuki.
I also revisit personal memories from the many projects in which I was involved—the people I worked with, the critical decisions and pivotal moments, the challenges we faced, and the happy times we shared along the way.
It is a final look back at a remarkable chapter of my professional life.
