Blood Pressure Woes, Shatner Goals, & Political Low Blows
This week, Rik and Michele are covering everything from doctor’s appointments to political low blows—and somehow William Shatner gets thrown into the mix!
Rik gives an update on his latest doctor visit, wonders if his high blood pressure is messing with his ability to pull off all those different voices for radio commercials, and reveals his new aging goal: be like William Shatner in his 90s. Plus, did he actually remember to ask the doctor about all that fake sugar in his soda?
Michele has some medical news of her own as she finds out whether a new knee is in her future.
Then things take a more serious turn as Rik and Michele dive into politics, including Megyn Kelly’s comments about Christina Applegate, a particularly nasty campaign ad involving Amy, and why everyone needs to get out and VOTE. The political conversation also brings up some powerful memories from Rik’s childhood, including the story of his sister being kicked out of their foster family’s home and the shocking story of his family home being set on fire when he was young.
It’s medical mayhem, Shatner aspirations, political frustration, family stories and, as always, plenty of opinions nobody asked for.
Michele takes a trip down memory lane with Labyrinth’s 40th anniversary concert, shares the jaw-dropping beauty of Crater Lake, and Rik steps up for a furry good cause at an adoptathon. Meanwhile, Roxy’s getting teeth pulled, Rik’s got phone anxiety, car repairs are draining the wallet, and a favorite story about his dad’s days as a mechanic makes the conversation take a nostalgic turn.
Add in solicitor overload, a possible vet switch, a Monday doctor appointment, and the million-dollar question: Did Rik actually do his homework from last week? Plus, Jay-Z hires himself for the Super Bowl halftime show—or at least that’s the story we’re talking about!
From dance magic to automotive panic, this episode has a little bit of everything and absolutely no shortage of nonsense. 😂
🎧 Tune in for another round of laughs, random tangents, and premium-grade nonsense with Rik and Michele.
