[…] So there's a lot of factors at play when you're thinking about, you know, those exceptional pedigrees and how they can still end up with those average animals. The other side of it on the genetics, there are some traits where in the dairy goat world that they have found have really high heritability and that it is very easy for things to pass from dam to offspring from sire to offspring. But there are also things they have found that might have a lower heritability or minimal heritability. And it's kind of more so a fluke. Add in the fact that there is a bell curve and that all of these traits are going to fall into a certain range and there's going to be highs and lows. obviously the goal is to have a very small bell curve and a very small standard deviation to really shrink what that roll of the dice is going to be when you cross these animals.
