Generosity Isn’t About How Much You Have. It’s About Who You Trust | Sunday Service

Afraid you don't have enough? Down to your last and wondering if God sees you? Fear looks at the container, but faith looks at the Provider. In this Sunday sermon, we walk through the story of the widow of Zarephath (1 Kings 17:8-16), who went from preparing her final meal to experiencing God's daily provision. This Bible teaching shows that generosity isn't determined by how much we have, but by how much we trust God with what we have. We look at three powerful examples of giving in Scripture: the widow's two coins (Mark 12:41-44), Mary's alabaster jar (Mark 14:3-9), and King David's gift for the temple (1 Chronicles 29). We also see how God provides "for every good work" (2 Corinthians 9:8). This isn't a message about giving to get. It's about faith over fear and trusting the God who performs miracles. In this message:• Generosity begins when faith overcomes fear• It's not the size of the gift, it's the heart of the giver• God's provision is not only about what He gets to us, but what He gets through us• There are miracles in your obediencePart of our Wave of Generosity series at River of Life Church. If this message encouraged you, subscribe for weekly sermons, share it with someone who's worried about making ends meet, and join us this Sunday!ROLC exists to see a real God flowing through real people.💻 www.rolc.church📲 Follow us on Instagram and Facebook: @rolc_churchLove People 🩶Reach The Lost 🛟Teach Believers 📖Serve The Community 🤝WELCOME HOME

Does It Feel Like God Is Against You? It Might Be Preparation, Not Punishment | Sunday Service

Does it feel like God is disrupting everything in your life? Don't mistake God's plow for God's punishment. Sometimes the hardest seasons are the ones preparing you for your greatest harvest. In this sermon, the first message of our new series Unshakable Faith, we look at Hosea 10:12: "Break up your fallow ground, for it is time to seek the LORD." Fallow ground isn't dead ground. It's ground that has become hard through disappointment, offense, fear, routine, or neglect. On the 20th anniversary of becoming Lead Pastors at River of Life Church, our pastor shares the story of starting with no paycheck, no insurance, an attic bedroom, and a flooded first Christmas. He tells how walking by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7), carried this church from hard ground to a harvest. In this message: • Faith must break what has become hard (Hebrews 3:15) • Faith plows before it sees: no breakthrough yet, keep believing • Breaking ground means breaking unbelief, offense, fear, pride, and old thinking (Jeremiah 4:3) • The plow isn't punishment, it's preparation • Faith puts the seed of God's Word in broken ground (Romans 10:17) If your marriage, prayer life, dreams, or faith feel hard right now, don't abandon the field. Break the ground. Plant the seed. Believe for rain. Expect a harvest. If this message encouraged you, subscribe for weekly sermons, share it with someone in a hard season, and join us this Sunday! Discipleship Is Caught, Not Taught | ROLC Midweek

Your life is already teaching someone, whether you know it or not. Your kids, coworkers, and friends are watching how you talk, how you handle stress, and how you treat people, and they're forming a picture of Jesus from what they see. In this message on discipleship, we look at why following Jesus is more often caught than taught. Paul said, "Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ" (1 Corinthians 11:1). Jesus didn't just lecture His disciples. He invited them to walk with Him, and they watched Him pray, show compassion, and wash feet. This Bible teaching walks through Paul's charge to Timothy to set an example "in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity" (1 Timothy 4:12). It's a practical look at anger, integrity when no one is watching, and the people we let influence us (Proverbs 13:20). In this message: • Discipleship isn't just knowing about Jesus, it's learning to live like Jesus • What you do in the small things shows up in the big things • Discipleship doesn't require perfection, it requires direction (Philippians 3:12) • The goal isn't carbon copies of us, it's people who look more like Christ If someone followed Jesus exactly the way you follow Jesus, what kind of Christian would they become? If this message challenged you, subscribe for weekly messages, share it with someone you're walking alongside, and come worship with us at River of Life Church!
