Ruth and Naomi's Mission - Scott Gagliarti

In this moving episode, Scott Gaglardi, Executive Director of Ruth & Naomi’s Mission, shares a message about unconditional love, recovery, and the importance of standing beside people during the most difficult chapters of their lives. Megan also shares her courageous personal story of addiction, abuse, devastating loss, relapse, and recovery. Her testimony is a powerful reminder that healing is rarely a straight path. Through the support of Ruth & Naomi’s Mission, a caring community, and her growing relationship with God, Megan began rebuilding her sobriety, her relationship with her son, and her belief that her life still had meaning and purpose. Using the story of Hosea and Gomer, Scott explains that the love of God is not something we must earn by first fixing ourselves. God’s love reaches us in the middle of our pain, failure, and brokenness. Love goes first, and that love becomes the place where genuine healing and transformation can begin. This message also highlights the vital work Ruth & Naomi’s Mission is doing throughout Chilliwack, including addiction recovery, supportive housing, senior shelter services, overdose prevention, and efforts to bring medically supported detox services to the community. No one is beyond hope. No one is too far gone. This episode calls us to believe that we are loved without conditions—and to extend that same patient, faithful love to others. Please note: This episode contains discussions of addiction, abuse, overdose, relapse, and suicide.

   Psalm 46 - "Trust-Confidence Psalm" - John Gray

In this episode of The Psalmist’s Playlist, guest speaker Pastor John Gray explores the timeless encouragement found in Psalm 46: God is our refuge, our strength, and our ever-present help in times of trouble. Life can change without warning. Difficult news, loss, financial pressure, fear, and uncertainty can make it feel as though the ground beneath us is giving way. Psalm 46 does not deny the reality of those storms. Instead, it reminds us that we do not face them alone. Through powerful stories and Scripture, Pastor John explains that refuge does not always mean the immediate removal of our problems. Sometimes refuge is the steady presence of God holding us in the middle of them. Even when circumstances remain uncertain, His presence offers peace, strength, and security. This message also reflects on the familiar words, “Be still and know that I am God.” Being still is not passive. It is the decision to stop striving for control, release the burdens we were never meant to carry, and trust that God remains faithful, powerful, and present. Whatever you may be facing today, Psalm 46 offers this assurance: when life shakes, God remains; when fear rises, God is near; when we are weak, God is strong; and when we do not know what to do, God is still our refuge.
