The Finish Line: Champions, Chaos and the Future of Aussie Cycling

The 2026 Hertz ProVelo Super League reaches its conclusion after five intense weeks across Australia, a season shaped by fire warnings, wild weather, crashes, rising stars and the deepest field the league has seen. In this final episode, Matilda Raynolds and Matt Keenan sit down with the newly crowned champions to unpack how they made it to the top. Sophia Sammons reflects on a season defined by resilience, from ambulance rides in Tasmania to slippery chaos at the Q2, and how she balanced cross country travel, Melbourne time sleep cycles and the pressure of leadership to win the SBS Women's League. Olympic gold medallist Ollie Bleddyn joins to discuss his selfless teamwork, his rise as one of Australia's most versatile road talents and his ambitions as he heads to Europe. Matt Wilson, the architect of the league, lifts the curtain on a season that battled fires, storms, medical shortages and last minute reroutes, yet still delivered the most competitive racing to date. Angus Calder wraps the year with his PSL Pulse, sharing the stories and unseen moments that shaped the 2026 narrative. The Road to the World Tour signs off with a celebration of the riders, teams, volunteers and fans who made the league what it is, and a look ahead to the Australians now heading overseas to chase the next step in their careers.

Stalemates Broken, Leaders Tested, Queensland Awaits

A huge weekend on the Road to the World Tour as the Hertz ProVelo Super League hit Grafton–Inverell and delivered the most dramatic round of the season. Matilda Raynolds and Matt Keenan break down a defining chapter, starting with Kirsty Watts’ astonishing 100‑kilometre solo victory — a performance that exposed hesitation in the peloton and underlined why the Meridian Bikebug rider is one of the brightest young talents in Australasia. In the men’s classic, Finlay Walsh announced himself with a mature, brutal win in the fastest Grafton ever recorded, while Team Brennan and CCACHE x BODYWRAP tore into each other in a tactical reversal of the Warny stalemate. Patrick Eddy’s heartbreak, Linden Millar’s breakthrough, and the relentless rise of the under‑23s — including Julian Baudry and Oscar Gallagher all get their moment. Sunday’s Inverell circuit races added more layers: Keely Bennett’s clutch win, Odette Lynch’s positioning battles, and Patrick Eddy’s cathartic domination after a weekend of frustration. The league tables tighten, with Sophia Sammons and Oliver Bleddyn still leading but under real pressure as fatigue, travel, and form fluctuations start to bite. Now everything funnels into Queensland. Lakeside Raceway, the Brisbane International Cycle Park, and the brutal Mount May summit finish will decide the season. Sammons, Edwards, Lynch, Polites, Bleddyn, Hone, Walsh, and the under‑23 climbers all arrive with something to prove, and only one weekend left to make their case to the world. A massive episode full of tactics, talent identification, and the final push toward the world‑tour dream.
