Roadtrips & Runways is a travel podcast hosted by Karissa and Jeremiah, sharing real-life adventures, smart travel tips, and ways to explore more while spending less. From road trips and flights on points to traveling as a couple and with kids, each episode covers destination recaps and planning hacks. They’re on a mission to visit all 50 states with their kids before they graduate high school—while still squeezing in unforgettable trips along the way.
2027 travel planning is officially underway! This week, we're looking ahead at two big trips we're hoping to make happen. First up, a couples getaway to Dublin, Ireland. We're researching the best flight options, figuring out how to use our Delta SkyMiles and the points from our two new Delta Gold Business cards, and deciding what we want to see and do while we're there.
Then it's time to switch gears to family travel! We're looking at taking the girls to Texas, with San Antonio and Austin both on the list. We'll talk about what each city has to offer, what would make the best family adventure, and how we're going to make our travel points work for us.
From international adventures to family road trips, we're already dreaming about where 2027 will take us. Because the best part of traveling is planning the next trip before the last one is even over!

Don’t Sleep on Oklahoma City! Family Travel on Points & Miles
In this episode of Roadtrips & Runways, we’re recapping our Oklahoma City family getaway and sharing how we used 8,500 American Airlines miles per person and 36,000 Hyatt points for three hotel nights!
We also had a Hyatt Guest of Honor award, which unlocked perks like complimentary breakfast for our family. From the Bricktown water taxi and putt-putt to the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum and Science Museum Oklahoma, we were surprised by how much there was to do!
We’re sharing our favorite activities, points-and-miles strategy, and why you shouldn’t sleep on OKC for your next family trip.
Correction: We misspoke during the episode. Flights cost $5.60 per person, each way, in taxes and fees—$44.80 total for our family of four round-trip.

Hyatt Points Just Got Harder: Bilt Changes, IHG’s New Card & Our Globalist Strategy
Big changes are happening in the hotel credit card world, and we're breaking down what they mean for our travel strategy.
We’re talking about the new IHG One Rewards Premier Select Card and its premium benefits, even though we don’t currently have the card. We’ll discuss who we think it could make sense for and whether the annual fee is worth it.
Then we’re getting into Bilt’s upcoming change to Hyatt transfers, dropping from 1:1 to 4:3 starting January 1. We were considering getting a Bilt card, but with this change, we’re probably taking it off our list. We also talk about why the timing of Bilt’s announcement—coming right after Chase Sapphire Preferred’s Hyatt transfer change—left us feeling a little misled as consumers.
And, of course, we’re talking Hyatt. We’re still working toward Globalist and looking at the best ways to earn Hyatt points now that some of the easiest 1:1 transfer options are disappearing.
If you're trying to decide which hotel cards are actually worth getting, this episode is for you.
Follow Roadtrips & Runways for more points, miles, credit card strategies, road trips, and ways we're using rewards to travel more for less.

Plus, Karissa shares an important tip from her real estate experience about opening new credit cards while you're trying to buy a house.
And finally, we're talking about one of our biggest points-and-miles strategies: set your travel goal first, then work backward to figure out how to get there using points and miles.
