Helping Women Build Uncompetitionable Businesses in a Competitive World
One of the most powerful ideas from my chat with M.K. Johnson was about becoming "uncompetitionable." It sounds counterintuitive, but it's genius, especially for experienced female founders navigating the rise of AI.
Here's a breakdown of what I learned:
AI vs. Human Insight: AI is a master of comparing data points, but it can't grasp the depth and nuance of decades of lived experience. It lacks our intuition and judgment.
Your Whole Story Matters: Those "unbillable" hours—caregiving, business failures, career breaks—aren't gaps. They are the very things that hone our signal recognition and make our wisdom unique. M.K. embraces every mistake and rejection as part of her professional toolkit.
Create Your Own Category: Instead of competing in a crowded market, the goal is to create a new space where competition simply doesn't exist. This is where your unique blend of skills and life lessons becomes your greatest asset.
It was a total mindset shift for me. We don't have to out-compute the machines; we have to out-human them.

The Secret to Stopping Toxic Behavior? Fix the Conditions, Not the People
It's Not the People, It's the System
Have you ever looked at a "problem employee" and wondered what's really going on? My guest Katherine Robinette, who has 30 years of experience fixing organizational issues, shared a perspective that completely reframes this.
She believes it's almost never the people who are the problem. Instead, behavior is a response to conditions.
Think about it:
Are you rewarding pure utilization above collaboration? You might see people hoard information.
Is profitability the only thing that gets celebrated? You might see people steal leads.
These aren't signs of "bad" people, but rational responses to the environment they're in.
This insight has me thinking about how the systems we create are the true drivers of behavior in our teams and companies.

A New Definition of Resilience: Adapting Forward
In this inspiring episode of Roaming with Restless Women, I welcomed team resilience expert Julie Lewis, whose sports science background and nature-based leadership experiences have shaped her unique approach to building thriving teams. We explored navigating mergers, embracing AI-driven change, and breaking down silos through collaboration.
Julie champions "adapting forward" as true resilience, not "bouncing back". She passionately advocates for the invaluable wisdom older women bring to the workforce.
With beautiful metaphors—teams as forests, women as water—this conversation is a powerful reminder that purpose, joy, and connection fuel both personal and professional growth at every stage of life.
