TMMS | Caregiving: The Guilt, the Resentment, and the Love
What happens when the person who once cared for you now needs you to care for them? And what happens when that relationship was complicated long before caregiving began?
In this deeply personal and honest conversation, I sit down with Dr. Janice Fortman, relationship communication expert, author, and host of Relationship Matters TV, to talk about the emotional realities of caring for aging parents.
We explore the guilt nobody wants to admit, the resentment that can come from unresolved childhood wounds, the challenges of navigating Alzheimer’s and dementia, and the pressure so many women feel to sacrifice themselves in the name of love.
Drawing from our own experiences caring for our mothers, we talk about boundaries, forgiveness, communication, and learning that being a good caregiver doesn’t mean giving up yourself.
Because caring for someone you love should not require abandoning yourself.
If you’re a caregiver, have been one, or know someone carrying this responsibility, this conversation is for you.

TMMS | Stop Rehearsing Chaos. Start Calling Forth What You Want.
A Throwback Episode That’s Still Right on Time
Sometimes the message you need today is one you delivered a while ago.
In this throwback episode of The Michelle Majors Show, I’m revisiting a conversation about the power of our thoughts, our words, and the stories we keep telling ourselves.
After a particularly difficult week, I found myself feeling overwhelmed, discouraged, and questioning everything. But a simple walk brought a powerful realization: I had gotten sloppy with my thinking and my speaking.
We say we want peace, but we rehearse chaos. We say we want love, but we keep repeating stories about why it isn’t possible. We say we want something different, but our words keep reinforcing what we’re trying to leave behind.
This conversation is about becoming intentional with what we think, what we speak, and what we’re calling into our lives. It’s about moving from fear to faith, from struggle to flow, and remembering that we have more power than we sometimes realize.
And there’s one little phrase that might change everything: BRING IT.
This episode may be a throwback, but the message is just as relevant today. Maybe even more so.
Because conflict is inevitable, life gets hard, and uncertainty is real. But we still get to decide what we’re going to believe, speak, and make room for.
It’s time for precision. Stop rehearsing what you don’t want. Start calling forth what you do.

TMMS | You Don’t Get to Define Me.
What happens when the world decides who you are before you’ve had the chance to define yourself? And what does it take to reclaim your life when the systems around you are designed to take away your power?
In this episode of The Michelle Majors Show, I’m joined by Mpingo Uhuru, author, poet, spoken-word artist, and founder of Zuri World Studios, for a powerful conversation about identity, dignity, freedom, and the courage to rebuild.
After spending 28 years incarcerated, Mpingo emerged with more than a story of survival. She brought with her a vision, a creative body of work, and an educational framework called Restoration as Architecture, which challenges us to examine not only what needs to change within ourselves, but also the systems and environments that shape our lives.
We talk about the importance of telling ourselves the truth, taking our futures seriously enough to build something different, and the complicated journey from surviving to rebuilding to truly living. We also explore what it means to reclaim softness, peace, and personal agency after years of having to protect yourself.
Because our past may be part of our story, but it doesn’t have to be the definition of who we are—or who we’re becoming.
