Roll for Rivals

About Roll for Rivals

Roll for Rivals is the experimental PvP actual-play podcast that splits the party on purpose. In Othoria, a world scarred by ancient wars and divine silence, two sides clash: resurrected villains racing to assemble petrified shards of power, and heroes tasked by the Emperor to stop them. Each episode follows our act-and-react format: the villains make a move, the heroes answer, and rivalries sharpen with every d20. Expect cinematic roleplay, tense tactics, big laughs, and consequences that actually stick. If you love high fantasy, you’re in the right arena. Produced by Dice Clash Chronicles. Hosted on Acast. S1E10: Submit or Defy

Forced into the depths of Mad Man’s Crypt, the villains must navigate trials of leadership, control, and consequence where even the right choice comes at a cost. As unlikely alliances form in the shadows, a single decision splits the path forward… and the ground beneath them. Meanwhile, in Ferrin, the heroes return to a city gripped by fear and judgment. With the Emperor tightening his grip and a greater threat emerging, they are sent east toward the unknown where something ancient is already beginning to stir. As tensions rise and unseen forces close in, one question remains: Will they submit… or defy? S1E8: Sacrifice (HEROES)

On the northern beaches of Reclaffe, a domed temple rises from the sand like a watchful eye quiet, sealed, and hiding more than prayer within its walls. Flint, Vargyr, and Oodagh infiltrate the structure under the cover of shadow, hoping for answers about the growing cult presence. Instead, they find meditation circles, a towering suit of armor at the chamber’s center, and a silver-tongued fanatic ready to test more than their blades. What begins as a silent strike unravels into a brutal confrontation of steel, sorcery, and ideology. Temptations are offered. Lines are crossed. And belief itself becomes a battlefield. On the northern shores of the Empire shadows rise, loyalties strain, and unseen forces stir beyond mortal sight, one question echoes through the chamber: What are you willing to give up… to save the ones you love? S1E7: Vengeance and the Sunken Temple

A moment of rest proves costly as unfinished business comes back with a blade. After escaping the train, the villains’ brief respite in the desert is shattered when a vengeful hobgoblin general tracks them down, forcing a brutal confrontation that leaves more than blood in the sand. Meanwhile, the heroes arrive in Fallhearth, where divine whispers, political obstruction, and growing cult activity leave the town on the brink of collapse. Faced with an impossible choice, the party sets its sights on a sunken temple—unaware of what truly waits inside. As night gives way to dawn, both sides move closer to something ancient, powerful, and watching. The question remains: Will questions be answered... or will more mysteries emerge? S1E6: The Train and The Spank

A single bad decision sends the villains hurtling toward disaster—literally. What begins as a stolen ride aboard a hobgoblin military train spirals into total mayhem when plans unravel, tempers flare, and desperation takes over. As the situation aboard the train grows increasingly unstable, the line between escape and catastrophe blurs, leaving lasting consequences in its wake. Meanwhile, the heroes’ attempt to deliver a critical warning to the Empire goes disastrously off the rails thanks to an unexpected companion whose presence proves more destructive than any enemy blade. Old secrets surface, true identities are revealed, and fractured trust forces the party to confront what really binds them together. With messages lost, paths divided, and chaos echoing across the realm, both sides are left asking the same question: Was this all an accident… or the first sign that something far worse is unfolding?
