This week on Rolling with the Rowes, I’m joined by Ciara McGinty, the 2026 New York Rose of Tralee. Off camera we are joined by Roisin Wiley, the winner of the 2023 Rose of Tralee! It was a staestudded afternoon in Tribeca.
From Woodlawn to Tralee, Ciara takes us behind the scenes of what it’s really like to be a Rose, from the selection process and the infamous Rose outfits to meeting Dáithí Ó Sé, Kathryn Thomas and the other Roses from around the world.
We chat about growing up Irish in New York, the Irish-American community, representing New York on one of Ireland’s biggest stages, and what actually goes on when the cameras aren’t rolling.
It’s an honest, funny conversation about Irish identity, New York life, family, fashion, dating, and the slightly surreal experience of becoming a Rose of Tralee.
