Based off their mildly successful blog of the same name, best friends and romcom aficionados Kat Jiang and Alex M. Lu review your favorite romantic comedies and ask the hard questions, like, how DOES Katherine Heigl afford that apartment on an assistant's salary? New episodes every two weeks! Hopefully.
In which Colin Firth's ghost and Hugh Grant's filmography take center stage. Also, for the curious and/or pedantic:
- This movie's opening did not, in fact, beat Barbie's at the UK box office. But it did beat Oppenheimer, the new Captain America (no surprise there), and (of course) previous romcom box office records set by earlier Bridget Jones movies.
- Kat's assertions about which book plot most closely matches which movie plot should not be taken very seriously, as, at the time of recording, she had not reread either book 1 or book 2 since the mid-2000s. Turns out both are adapted...with movie 2 possibly (and unfortunately) actually the more faithful?? Oof.
- The very first Bridget Jones column can be read here. Thanks, Independent!
