Podcast Overview

Rooted and Real is a place for honest conversations about life and faith — the real stuff. The messy moments, the sweet ones, the questions you’re almost afraid to say out loud… all of it. I don’t come here as someone who has everything figured out. I come as a mom, a wife, a woman who’s learning, growing, and sometimes struggling right alongside you. Whether you believe in God, aren’t sure what you believe, or you’re somewhere in between, there is space for you here. My hope is that these stories and reflections help you feel less alone — and help faith feel personal again. Not perfect. Not pressured. Just real. Because God meets us in the middle of our everyday life. And together, we’ll explore what that actually looks like.

Submission, Reclaimed: What the Bible Actually Says About Marriage

Few passages in Scripture are as misunderstood as Ephesians 5:21-33.

In this episode, we take a closer look at what the Bible actually says about submission, love, and marriage — including the cultural context Paul was writing into and why his words were far more radical than they may seem at first glance.

We also explore what it means for husbands to love their wives as Christ loved the church, what biblical submission truly is (and what it’s not), and how these roles were never meant to reflect control, but sacrifice and unity.

Drawing from both Scripture and insights similar to those found in the book titled Love & Respect by Emerson Eggerichs, we unpack why Scripture emphasizes love and respect in different ways — and how that plays out practically in marriage.

Grounded in truth and spoken with care, this conversation brings clarity to a topic that has been misunderstood, misapplied, or misused, helping reclaim what God actually intended for marriage.

“My Life Doesn’t Affect You”…..Or Does It?

We live in a culture that says, “What I do doesn’t affect anyone else.”

But Scripture tells a different story.

In Joshua 7, one man’s hidden disobedience impacted an entire nation — reminding us that what feels private is never truly without consequence.

In this episode, we talk about the lie of private sin, the difference between truth and cultural affirmation, and why following Christ calls us to a life of surrender and obedience.

Affirmation is not always love — and God’s call to holiness is not about control, but about protection, truth, and freedom.

If you’ve ever believed that your choices only affect you, this conversation will gently challenge that idea and point you back to what Scripture says.
