In this week's episode of Rooted Real Talk, I'm getting vulnerable about a season of exhaustion, disrupted routines, and feeling spiritually disconnected. I've been caught in the tension between the new rhythm God is calling me into and my old habits of striving, pushing through, and trying to control everything.
I'm sharing what God has been teaching me about slowing down, surrendering control, and recognizing that just because I feel distant from Him doesn't mean He's moved away. Sometimes we're so consumed by the busyness of life that we forget to be still long enough to hear His voice.
I'm also opening up about some personal struggles in my marriage, intimacy, and the lies I unknowingly believed about myself. After months of searching for answers, God revealed something powerful to me about the connection between our thoughts, emotional intimacy, and the beliefs we allow to take root in our minds.
Through Scripture and some raw, honest reflection, I'm talking about extending ourselves grace, taking ownership of our actions, renewing our minds, and choosing gratitude over frustration.
My prayer is that this episode encourages you to examine what's keeping you from experiencing a deeper connection with God and the people you love.
Because being out of rhythm doesn't mean you're out of God's reach. He's still present, still compassionate, and still working. Sometimes our greatest breakthrough comes when we stop striving, surrender our expectations, and allow Him to transform us from the inside out.
Rooted in Scripture. Equipped for real life.

Episode 65: Built through resistance
What if the resistance you're facing right now isn't meant to stop you, but to prepare you for where God is taking you next?
In today's episode of Rooted Real Talk, I'm diving into the power of resilience and how life's greatest challenges can become opportunities for growth, transformation, and deeper dependence on God.
I'm sharing personal experiences from navigating new responsibilities, overcoming obstacles, and learning what it truly means to surrender control and allow God to lead.
Together, we're unpacking five characteristics of a resilient person: perseverance, adaptability, emotional strength, faith and perspective, and a growth mindset. Through scripture and real-life examples, I'll challenge you to shift your perspective from asking, "Why is this happening to me?" to "What is God developing within me through this?"
Romans 5:3–4 reminds us that suffering produces perseverance, perseverance produces character, and character produces hope.
Here's the truth: Resilience isn't about avoiding the storm. It's about allowing God to transform you through it.
You don't have to have everything figured out, and you don't have to rely on your own strength. Keep showing up, keep growing, and keep trusting that God is working even when you can't see it.
Because you don't have to be unshakable when you're rooted in an unshakable God.
Stay rooted. Keep renewing your mind. And remember, you're being built through the resistance.

Episode 64: Discouraged but Not Defeated
Have you ever felt rejected, overlooked, or so discouraged that you wanted to throw in the towel? What if the real battle isn't what's happening around you, but the thoughts you're allowing to take root within you?
In this episode of *Rooted Real Talk*, I'm sharing a weekend filled with unexpected disappointments, emotional triggers, and moments that tested my peace. But through it all, God reminded me that my feelings don't have to dictate my decisions, rejection doesn't define my identity, and gratitude can completely shift my perspective even when my circumstances don't change.
I'm diving into Scripture to unpack the power of taking our thoughts captive, practicing self-control, renewing our minds daily, and persevering when life doesn't go according to plan.
One thing I'm learning is that spiritual maturity isn't about never feeling discouraged. It's about recognizing those emotions without allowing them to control my response.
**You don't need perfect circumstances to remain faithful to your calling.** Don't let temporary emotions lead to permanent decisions or allow discouragement to distract you from what God is doing in your life.
Let's talk about surrendering what we can't control, anchoring our minds in God's truth, and pressing forward in faith.
Because we may be discouraged, but we are not defeated!
