[…] So this is early 1944. And so she then came back to Mishawaka one last time. Left here on May 13th, 1944, and took the Capitol Limited to Washington, D.C. Okay. And that's where she got her training at American University, training by the American Red Cross. She trained there until late June. And it's at that point where she was assigned this footlocker. Okay. that she would then carry with her to other locations. So Elizabeth sailed from New York to Scotland on the Queen Elizabeth, arrived there on July 20th, 1944, took the train to London, and for a few weeks she was stationed in London. And this may sound glamorous and exciting, but London was coming under constant V1 rocket attacks. […]
