Dit is de laatste aflevering van de Roze Golf. Na 42 jaar houdt het lhbti-platform op te bestaan. In deze Roze golf blikken oud-medewerkers terug op hun tijd bij de Roze Golf. Het archief van de Roze Golf gaar naar het Nederlands Instituut voor Beeld en Geluid in Hilversum. Volgens Elwin Mulder van Beeld en Geluid zijn de stapels cassettebandjes en cd's met radio-uitzendingen een aanwinst voor de collectie.

Met het naderende einde van de Roze Golf maakt Charlot Pierik van Kennisinstituut Movisie de balans op van ruim veertig jaar homo-emancipatie. Er is veel bereikt, maar het is allemaal niet vanzelfsprekend. De acceptatie is flinterdun, zegt Charlot. Harlem van Hayzer is gevlucht uit Tsjetsjenië. Zijn goeede vriend Zelim Bakaev werd in 2017 van straat geplukt in Tsjetsjenië en sindsdien is nooit meer wat van hem vernomen. Harlem vertelt over zijn verdwenen vriend, die een bekende zanger was in zijn land en over de toestand nu in Tsjetsjenië.

Barry van Cornewal was 24 jaar de songfestivalspecialist van de Roze Golf. Nu het programma binnenkort stopt, blikt hij terug op de tijd dat hij verslag deed van wat er voor, maar vooral ook achter de schermen gebeurde tijdens het liedjesfestival.
