College Football Week 9 Reactions! Early Funeral For Some?
College Football Week 9 Wrap Up | Ohio State Upset, Mississippi State Meltdown & Mike Norvell's FSU Exit
All three hosts' seasons are officially "dead," and Aaron is running the funeral. Aaron, Ryan, and Chandler look back on a brutal Halloween weekend of college football. They cover Mississippi State's loss to Texas, Auburn's collapse against Ole Miss, and Ohio State's stunning loss at USC. They also react to the wild AP poll, Mike Norvell's exit at Florida State, and a season where nothing is predictable.
In this episode
Mississippi State vs. Texas: Aaron says it was the hardest game to watch, and Kamario's turf toe injury hits him hard. They ask whether the Bulldogs' season is already over and what it means for Vanderbilt next week.
Auburn vs. Ole Miss: Ryan breaks down a close first half that fell apart. He covers the secondary injuries, the pass interference calls, the holding penalties, the missed two-point snap and the second-half play calling. They also talk about whether Auburn's defense is simply not good enough this year.
Ohio State at USC: Chandler gives his notes from the game, including the dropped passes in the rain, the pre-snap penalties, and the red zone play calling. They also cover the clock management on the final drive, Jeremiah Smith on the bench, and the two-point conversion decision. Chandler also defends freshman quarterback Luke Fahy, who "didn't play bad."
Ryan Day and the playoff picture: Aaron argues that Ryan Day is not good at coaching from behind. They also discuss why Ohio State may no longer be a Big Ten title contender.
AP Top 25 chaos: They react to Utah at No. 3 and UCLA at No. 5, plus the idea that everyone in the top 25 could beat everyone else in a 14-team playoff.
Florida State and Clemson: They discuss Mike Norvell's exit after the Clemson loss, FSU's finances and who might replace him, and whether Dabo Swinney is also on thin ice.
Indiana vs. Minnesota and UNC vs. Miami: They cover two back-to-back 60-yard field goals, a game-ending sack, and two onside kicks that were called back.
NIL, the transfer portal and the future of the sport: The hosts talk about player retention, life-changing money, and whether college football needs guardrails.
Plus a look ahead to the Thursday pick 'em episode.
