The Death of Dialogue = The Birth of Division

The Rush to Fail podcast took a year hiatus but I felt the overwhelming urge to come on and talk about what I witnessed and the impressions that I had within 72 hours of the tragic shooting of Charlie Kirk on the UVU campus.

In this episode, I reflect on the shocking shooting of Charlie Kirk and why it marks another monumental moment in history—the kind where we’ll always remember where we were when we heard the news. I dive into the dangers of echo chambers on social media that isolate us, preventing honest conversations and deepening division in our society.

I also share a personal experience from my visit to Memphis at the site where Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated, and how it shaped my appreciation for those who risk their comfort, reputation, and even safety to engage in hard conversations in the face of opposition. Their courage reminds us that progress happens when we step into places where disagreement lives and voices need to be heard.

These are my raw and unedited thoughts about history, courage, and the call for us to break through the walls of isolation to connect as humans and continuing to have the difficult conversations in order to keep America as the land of the free and home of the brave.
