Het zijn de typisch westerse vragen waarover wij ons verbazen. Anderzijds vragen we ons ook af hoe zij de grootste wetenschappers kunnen voortbrengen, hoe zij uitbundig feest kunnen vieren of hoe Dostojeveski en Toergenjev zo treffend de Slavische ziel konden beschrijven.
