Living well requires wisdom. When we are young, we rely on the wisdom of our parents, but as we grow older and take on more responsibility, we need wisdom of our own. That is why we choose to discuss ways to align ourselves with Biblical wisdom that will allow us to flourish as God intended. On the Sage Reverie podcast, we seek sage wisdom in holy reverie and have some fun along the way.
In this episode of the Sage Reverie Podcast, we dive into the Enneagram—a popular tool for self-reflection and personal growth. Is it compatible with Christianity, or is it too focused on self? Join hosts Mike and Wes as they welcome guest CJ Ward to discuss whether Christians can use the Enneagram for spiritual development.
In this episode, we explore:
Origins and Controversies: From its origins to questions around "automatic writing"—does this background disqualify the Enneagram?
Self-Reflection vs. Self-Absorption: How looking inward with the Enneagram can help us become more selfless and Christ-centered.
Marriage, Parenting, and Leadership: Practical ways the Enneagram can help in relationships and understanding others.
Addressing Skeptics: Common objections, like using it as an excuse for behavior, and why we believe in approaching it thoughtfully.
Whether you're curious about the Enneagram or looking for ways to deepen self-awareness in faith, this episode is packed with insights to help you decide if it’s a helpful tool for you.
