About Sailing Into Oblivion Podcast
After my 2012 Thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail, my life was changed forever. The challenge of big adventure had me hooked. I soon set a goal of sailing alone and without stopping around the world. In 2017-18, I did just that! Since then, I have taken my podcast aboard my Westsail32 as well as in my everyday life. The shows are a mix of my own past experiences along with interviews of everyday people that have a seemingly endless number of stories themselves. […] So like, that's not going to work. So I do a lot of testing and, um, and these older boats too, like I, I, I kind of coined the term for my boat. Like I'm trying to build an offshore workhorse. And what I've really learned is like, my boat's kind of a pig in light air, like try to sail hard on the wind and like 12 knots of wind, you know, that's awful. It's like the boat won't play, the boat won't track. But then as soon as you get out in 25 knots, it's like the boat comes alive and it thrives, you know? So I've really been kind of building the boat around that mindset of really wanting to have my rig powered up, but also maintain balance. […]
