God the Fixer and the Problem of Evil - Audio

God the Father: the Giver - Audio
Most of us come to the idea of God as Father carrying something. A good experience, a hard one, or something complicated in between. And whatever we carry shapes the way we hear the word Father when it gets attached to God. This episode works through what Scripture actually says about God the Father, not as a corrective to bad theology, but as an honest look at who he is and what he gives. It starts at the very beginning, with creation and the gift of life, and moves through purpose, work, the small satisfactions of ordinary days, and what it means that God stays through the dark seasons rather than stepping back after he's given us what we need. The claim the Bible makes is simple and sweeping. All good things are a gift from God the Father. That includes the obvious things and the ones we overlook. It includes the people who acknowledge him and the ones who don't. And it changes the way we see everything from a morning cup of coffee to the work sitting in front of us tomorrow.
