[…] And the number we throw out all the time is that a 20-inch trout will spawn. It's usually a female. She's going to spawn about 20 million eggs a season. And I always saw they spawn on the full moon in May. I was like, oh, that's a given. Now, I've learned since then that the reason it's 20 million in a year is that a female will spawn at least a portion of her eggs every four to five days. And they're kind of serial spawners. They'll start in April. It's water temperature related, but they'll start in April and then in September. And... you know, the most activity might be around the moons, but even in the middle of the month, there's going to be a spawn somewhere to some extent. […]
